Matty McKibben and Jake Rosati – Awkward

“I f***ing love you.” – Matty

Bromance-Matty-and-JakeMatty and Jake are certifiably adorable. Best friends since forever, these two agree on pretty much everything – including their taste in girlfriends, as it turns out. Fortunately, these two are such good bros that when they realize they’ve fallen for the same girl, instead of taking it out on each other, they handle the situation like adults and leave it up to her to choose between them. Like any good bromance, their relationship with each other is more important than any girl. To be sure, audiences can not get enough of these two any more than Matty and Jake can get enough of each other. It’s a match made in Bromance Heaven.

Cory Matthews & Shawn Hunter – Boy Meets World

“Matthews, who’s your best friend?”
“Shawn is.”
“And what would you do to someone who messes with your best friend?”
“I’d kill ’em.”

These two were “bromance” before bromance was cool. No one was more supportive of Cory Matthews than Shawn Hunter, and Cory was the most constant person in Shawn’s life. Regardless of what new drama  invaded their lives, these two were guaranteed to have each others’ backs no matter what. We got to watch as these two grew from young boys in middle school to well-adjusted adults, and their bromance is truly a bromance that will undoubtedly last a lifetime. [And here’s to hoping we’ll see a continuation of that in the upcoming Girl Meets World.]

Joey Tribbiani & Chandler Bing – F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

“We won’t be able to get up in the middle of the night and have those
long talks about our feelings and the future.” – Joey
“… not once did we do that.” – Chandler

While we all tuned into F.R.I.E.N.D.S. to watch the antics of the ensemble cast of… well, a group of friends, Joey and Chandler’s bromance really caught viewers attention over the 10 seasons. Though much of their bromance was unspoken, Joey’s quirky comedy perfectly complimented Chandler’s dry sarcasm – forming the perfect bro-pair right before our eyes. The two already had a long history together, and watching them grow even closer over the seasons was one of the many highlights during F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 10-year-long run.

Ted, Barney, & Marshall – How I Met Your Mother

“Barney, come on. We’re more then friends. We’re brothers.” – Ted
“Did you hear that, Marshall? We’re brothers now!” – Barney
“We’re all brothers.” – Marshall

Bromance-Marshall-Ted-BarneThis is obviously less of a bro-pair and more of a bro-trio. Though Barney and Marshall frequently get into arguments over which of them is Ted’s true BFF, the three of them together really form the best bromance on the show. These three friends work together to keep each other in line and on the right path in life. Their diverse personalities can cause some disagreements between them, but when push comes to shove, they would do anything for each other. Future Ted’s references to “Uncle Marshall” and “Uncle Barney” assure viewers that these three are bonded for life.

Tyler, Neal, Milo, & Gibbs – Men At Work

Bromance-Men-at-WorkHow does the saying go – “three’s company, four’s a party”? Well, this bromance is certainly a bro-party – in the best way.  Men at Work is basically just an entire show that revolves around four bros and their crazy antics. What’s not to love? Well… granted, their boss may not love them all that much. Though they spend a lot of time at work, they’re rarely ever seen actually working. We have to admit that we enjoy watching these guys bro-out at work, offering each other life advice – crazy as it sometimes can be. The downside of this group of bros? Good luck finding a good mashup name for them. Tealiobbs? Gylernealo?

Merlin & Arthur – Merlin

“I’m going to be at your side like I always am, protecting you.” – Merlin

The Great Dragon proclaimed them “two sides of the same coin,” and he was right. Though it’s been prophesied that Aruthur and Merlin are destined to rule and unite the kingdoms, that prophecy does not account for their enduring bromance. What they lack in grace, they more than make up for in good, old-fashioned sass. Merthur, as they are affectionately called, get on so well in fact, that people have begun to wonder of they weren’t meant to move beyond “bromance” and into “romance”.

Schmidt and Nick Miller – New Girl

“Schmidt loves me so much, and to be honest… it scares me.
I mean,  don’t think I deserve all of Schmidt’s love.”
– Nick

Bromance-Schmidt-NickOh, Schmick! Best bros since college, Schmidt and Nick ‘s friendship began over their shared social awkwardness and inability to get girlfriends. Though they were similar back in the college years, the two could not be more different today. Schmidt’s positivity and openness is a constant thorn in the side of the eternally grumpy Nick Miller. At the same time, Nick’s unwavering pessimism and utter disregard for his appearance is mind-blowing to Schmidt. Despite their differences, these bros are a perfect match, and you’d be hard-pressed to find another bro-pair who loved each other as much as these two. [Of course, Nick would never admit this.]

Dwight & Jim – The Office

“”I’m gonna write you both up for not working.” – Dwight
“I’m gonna write YOU up for not working.” – Jim
“Okay, well-played. Neither of us will write the other up for not working.” – Dwight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6njBHQH2eOM

An unlikely pair, Dwight and Jim are one of the most entertaining bromances to watch. [Admittedly, we use the term “bromance” very loosely here.] Between Jim’s laid-back attitude and Dwight’s forever unamused facial expressions, viewers may initially find themselves confused as to where these two stand, but let us assure you, no one on this show… hates each other as much as Jim and Dwight do. However antagonistic these two are towards each other, we know deep down these two have a bromance that is unparallelled. Now, the big question here is: Dwim or Jight?

Michael Scofield & Fernando Sucre – Prison Break

“I’m not going anywhere.” – Scofield

It must have been fate that Michael Scofield and Fernando Sucre be cellmates at Fox River Penitentiary, because a bromance like that doesn’t happen by chance. Scofield got himself thrown in prison to break out his brother, but by the time he left, he had a contingent of prisoners along for the ride – Sucre among them. The “trust nobody” mentality of prison life gave them their fair share of problems, but when it counted, those two always had each others’ backs.

Turk and J.D. – Scrubs

“It sounds like you’re asking me out on a man date.” – Turk
“Turk, why are you so afraid of loving me?” – J.D.

Where to begin with these two bros? J.D. and Turk started out as roommates, and they’re so close that even their girlfriends get suspicious that there may be something more between them than simple friendship. Such is not the case, but unlike many of the bromances on this list, J.D. and Turk are not shy about admitting how close they are. They may have had a hard time when J.D. eventually had to move out, but even distance was not enough to break these characters’ bond. A bromance as strong as theirs can only be matched the actors’ mutual feelings offscreen.

Dean Winchester & Castiel – Supernatural

“You made an exception for me.” – Dean
“You’re different.” – Castiel

So, a guardian angel and a demon hunter… wait – does that sound like the beginning of a bad joke? Rest assured, this bromance is no joke. Though it took Dean and Sam a while to warm up to the strange, naive angel in a human’s body, Castiel eventually found his place within the Winchester brothers’ circle – which was, and always will be, standing a bit closer to Dean than Sam. Maybe it has something to do with Castiel being the one to lift Dean out of perdition, but whatever the reason, nothing can come between Castiel and Dean. As they’ve grown closer – showing us how strong their feelings are for each other – we’ve all fallen in love with the bromance known as Destiel.

Stiles Stilinski & Derek Hale – Teen Wolf

“If I’m harboring your fugitive ass – it’s my house, my rules, buddy.” – Stiles

Granted, Stiles initially wanted Scott to take down the alpha wolf Derek Hale. However, now we can’t help but wonder if it was all just a front. Since the moment these two first started interacting, it is clear that Derek and Stiles click on an entirely new level. You know it’s real when you are comfortable enough with each other to raid each others’ wardrobe – even if you aren’t exactly the same size. Stiles may never come to fully cease being afraid of Derek, but theirs is a unique bromance all it’s own. Needless to say, we’re all on team Sterek!

Damon Salvatore & Alaric Saltzman – The Vampire Diaries

“I’m not going with you. You tried to kill me.” – Damon
“Yeah, well… you DID kill me.”
– Alaric

Bromance Team BadassYeah, you’d think Damon and Stefan would be the best bromance on the show, but Dalaric had our hearts from the moment Damon uttered the infamous line: “We were badass.” Like every life-long friendship, these two had some ups-and-downs. Unlike other life-long friendships, their downs mostly involved one trying [and usually succeeding] to kill the other. Though sometimes volatile, these two always know who to call when life starts to blow up in their faces – which is, let’s be honest, quite often. We’ll always have a place in our hearts for Dalaric, affectionately known as: Team Badass.

Rick Grimes & Daryl Dixon – The Walking Dead

“I need you. Are you with me?” – Rick
“Yeah.” – Daryl

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owHiUy5adG8

Sure, Rick and Shane were best friends – practically brothers – up until Rick had to kill Shane to stop Shane from killing him. Though Rick lost Shane, he had Daryl there to be an even better brother and friend than Shane ever was. From the moment Daryl Dixon came onto our screens, we were in love. Obviously, we weren’t the only ones! It must have something to do with their similar moral code. These two guys would do anything to protect the people they love. From that similarity grew a bond of mutual respect and understanding, forming the wonderful Darick – or is it Rickyl? – bromance we all adore.

Neal Caffrey & Peter Burke – White Collar

“You said goodbye to everyone but me. Why?” – Peter
‘Cause you’re the only one who could change my mind.” -Neal

This bromance had a bit of an unorthodox beginning. Peter Burke was the F.B.I. agent who finally managed to capture and incarcerate the infamous white collar con-man Neal Caffrey. The two strike up a deal that places Caffrey under Burke’s constant supervision, and through their time spent working cases together, they managed to develop a wonderful bromance. Peter is determined to show Neal that there are some people that can be counted on, and Neal helps Peter see the other side of life, apart from all the stiff, uptight FBI agents. Peter often finds himself in the role of protector of Neal – not that Peter would have it any other way. Neal trusts Peter more than anyone, and Peter has proven worthy of that trust on more than one occasion.
