Interview with The Maine's Garrett Nickelsen

If you haven’t heard of The Maine yet, you’re missing out. This sultry pop-rock band from Tempe, Arizona has been making music for almost five years. Recently we asked bass player Garrett Nickelsen some questions. We like to do interviews that aren’t  serious sometimes because in some cases this says more about a person then a “real” interview.

If you were in an apocolyptic situation, which band member would you eat first?
“Jared, he has a lot of muscle in his legs. Flavored with some garlic and I bet it would be a wonderful meal.”
If you had a treasure, where would you bury it?
“On top of a volcano. No one likes hanging out on a volcano.”
If you could control one person for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?
“Jim from Jimmy John’s. I’d make him give me free sandwiches everyday. Think of all the #9’s I could get!”
What’s the one thing you would do if you found out you had a day to live?
“Buy a Harley, drive and jam my favorite records till I died.”
Would you rather never play a show again or never release new music again?
“Writing music is the most amazing thing about being in the band. If you are not writing new music you are not a musician. I think I’d have to pick not playing a show ever again.”
“Honest Review” of Colorado.
“I love Colorado! Everyone there is nice and it’s a beautiful state.”
