The Flash continued on Tuesday night with an old foe returning to Central City and a new threat arriving as a result of Barry getting his speed back.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of episode 7×04, titled “Central City Strong”.
Hello old foe
The episode saw the return of Abra Kadabra, who had revenge on his mind. After stealing a piece of tech, the magician villain is stopped by The Flash and Cisco (dressed as Vibe). Just when it seems like Abra Kadabra has the upper hand, Frost shows up to stop him from taking out her friends.
Abra Kadabra escapes ARGUS custody and quickly finds the rest of the obelisks. Kadabra tells The Flash that he stole his “light” from him and because of that, he wants The Flash to suffer like he has. So Kadabra plans to detonate an anti-matter bomb above the city to destroy it.
Barry has no idea what Kadabra was talking about until a chat with Iris jogged his memory. Kadabra lost his family during the “Crisis” events and that led him to wanting revenge on The Flash since Barry was supposed to die, not Oliver Queen.
The Flash speeds to meet Kadabra and tries to talk him down from blowing up the city. He shows him his family from another timeline and tells him he also lost someone too. Barry tells him about Oliver and tells Kadabra that he can’t go back to that timeline because it’s gone.
A new threat arrives
Just as Kadabra deactivates the bomb, an earthquake shakes the ground but it’s not the magician’s doing. A new threat arrives and absorbs both The Flash’s lightning and Kadabra anti-matter bomb like it’s nothing. The new villain kills Kadabra and nearly Barry in the process.
Episode Notes
- So who was this new threat? The show did not address it, but that was Strength Force. In the comics, this was a result of Barry getting his speed back, and… yeah. You’ll just have to wait and see what’s coming.
- Elsewhere in the episode, Iris is struggling with being back in the real world. She goes to a Mirrorverse Survivors support group and opens up about what she experienced when she was abducted by Eva.
- Caitlin and Frost were also struggling this week as Caitlin is dealing with exhaustion and headaches. At the end of the episode, Caitlin tells Cisco there is a problem and out comes Frost. Yes, Caitlin and Frost are now two separate people!
