The Flash is the fastest man alive but Tuesday night’s episode of the superhero show saw his mind catch up with his feet while an epic character was revived from the dead.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the most important moments from the episode:
The episode kicks off with Barry and Cisco trying to find a portal into the mirror world with time running out to save Iris, Kamilla (who I totally forgot about!), and Captain Singh before they are trapped in there forever. Cisco comes up with his big board to go over some numbers but Barry figures out the answer quick, confusing poor Cisco.
From there, Barry basically becomes the brains and brawn of Team Flash but Cisco notices that something is wrong. Out in the field, Barry lets Frost get hit when stopping Eva from stealing some tech. Then Barry goes completely out of character and mentions to the team that they can only save either Iris, Singh, or Kamilla, but not all three.
Barry is suffering a side effect from the Artificial Speed Force (or ASF as Cisco called it). His mind is speed-thinking at a much faster rate, which led him to make the call to save his wife after he got into a heated confrontation with Cisco, Frost, and Allegra. Not to mention a really sick chase through the city with speedster version of Frost, which was AWESOME!
Anyway, Barry saves Iris against her will, who refused to go until Barry saved all three of them. As she is brought back home, she begins going into a seizure, snapping Barry out of his speed-thinking. The look on his face says it all as he is horrified at what he has done.
Hello old friend
The post-credits scene took viewers back to the pilot episode when Eobard Thawne killed Harrison Wells and took over his body, well… you know the rest. Back in the present day, Wells’ body was reconstituted by multiverse particles at the roadside grave where Thawne buried him. So basically Wells is back!
