“Superman and Lois” Recap: Morgan Edge’s Plan For Smallville Is Revealed

Superman and Lois continued on Tuesday night with Morgan Edge’s plan for Smallville finally revealed and Clark being torn in two different directions as his struggles with fatherhood and being a hero continue.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of how things went down.
Morgan Edge’s plan revealed
The main bulk of this week’s episode focused on Morgan Edge. For starters, Morgan met with Kyle and Lana. He asked Lana if she was “satisfied” with her small-town life, but Kyle is so obsessed with Morgan that he doesn’t even noticing he’s flirting with his wife.
This episode saw Lois kicking more ass than her superhero husband and it was a sight to see. Lois confronts Morgan at his newly acquired mine. She asks him why he’s so interested in Smallville but he stays mum.
Once Lois departs, Morgan has Leslie Larr punch a massive hole in the mine, revealing “enough X-Kryptonite to resurrect an army.” So there you go, Morgan is planning an army of Kryptonian super-soldiers. GULP!
Clark’s struggles continue
This week saw Clark struggling once again to find the balance between being a hero and a father. First, his father-in-law requested his help in transferring a dangerous prisoner to another faculty. The criminal? Well, it’s Thaddeus Killgrave, a psychopath who hates Superman. As you might have guessed, Thaddeus escapes but Superman shows up just in time confront him.
While all of this is going on, Clark promised Lois that he’d be there for her and support her at a town hall meeting to stop Morgan Edge from gaining control of the mines. Oh and to add on to all of that, Jordan and Jonathan were dealing with issues of their own and needed their father’s help.
“It feels like I’m really far down on your list of priorities,” Lois tells her husband.
Ouch. I’m not married but damn, that hurt.
Episode Notes
- Elsewhere in the episode, Clark’s relationship with Sam is on the rocks. With what Captain Luthor told him about Superman’s future, Sam calls in to officially begin Project 7734, which he referred to as a “contingency plan.”
- Speaking of Captain Luthor, is he the big bad for the season or is Morgan Edge? Something tells me Luthor might not be this time around.
