“Love Island USA” Renewed for Season 3 at CBS, Series Moves to Hawaii

Love will continue to be in the air on CBS after the network announced the renewal of Love Island USA on Wednesday, bringing the reality dating show back for its third season later this year.

The renewal was announced across the show’s social media networks. There is no timetable for a premiere date and no casting details have been announced at this time.

The first season of the show filmed season 1 in Fiji but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the second run was filmed in Las Vegas last summer. Contestants had to quarantine before and after arriving at the villa. The upcoming third season will be set in Hawaii.

Arielle Vanderberg is expected to return as the host of the show while Matthew Hoffman, the narrator from season 1 and 2, is also expected back.

Love Island USA first premiered on CBS back in 2019, averaging 2.6 million viewers across 22 episodes. The second season did worse in the ratings, averaging a dismal 1.82 million viewers and an 0.1 rating in the key demo of 18-49.

Sadly, a majority of the couples or finalists from season two have split. However, Connor Trott and Mackenzie Dipman are still going strong according to People Magazine.
