Tamera Mowry-Housley Announces Exit From ‘The Real’ After Seven Years

Tamera Mowry-Housley shared on Monday afternoon via Instagram that she is leaving The Real after seven years. She shared that she wanted the fans of the show to hear about her departure from her personally and not read it online from a publication.

“I had NO intention to talk about this today, especially in light of the news of my dear friend Naya, but now some reports are coming out and I’d rather you hear it from me first,” she wrote. “For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve been blessed to interview have changed my life for the better.”

She wished her fellow co-hosts and friends Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai all the luck with the show moving forward and sent them her love.

“I love you, I will miss you and I will always be there for you,” she wrote. “Thank you for teaching me, supporting me and loving all of me. Sisters forever.”

It is not clear what led the actress and television personality to the decision but she is the second host to depart the show in between seasons after Amanda Seales left the show last month.

“I have arrived because my contract is up at The Real and I did not renew it because it doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I cannot speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to and where the people who are speaking to me in disparaging ways are not being handled,” Seales said at the time on Instagram live, according to NBC News.
