‘America’s Got Talent’, ‘World of Dance’ Get Premiere Dates At NBC

Get ready because NBC has set the premiere date for season 15 of America’s Got Talent and season 4 of World of Dance, with both series premiering on Tuesday, May 26.

America’s Got Talent will see new judge Sofia Vergara and returning judge Heidi Klum join Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel on the judging panel. Terry Crews will return for a second season as host.

“We are so proud to present a 15th season of America’s Got Talent this summer,” said Cowell in a statement. “This show represents the best in perseverance, creativity, and optimism. At a time when families are unable to go out, we really hope the new season will bring some much-needed joy and escape.”

Production on the 15th season remains in limbo due to the coronavirus pandemic still putting restrictions on much of the country. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers are searching for ways to fill the schedule once the pre-taped auditions and Judge Cuts rounds end. Live shows are usually held in late August but as of now, no one knows what that will look like.

Shows like Saturday Night Live and American Idol recently had their live shows done remotely and it is possible AGT could do the same if restrictions are still in place by late August.

Meanwhile, World of Dance is returning after being off the air for over a year. They filmed their entire season back before the coronavirus pandemic forced major shutdowns and will air its season in full. Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo return as judges while Scott Evans is back for his second season as host.

“I’m so excited World of Dance is back this summer with a new crop of incredible dancers,” said Lopez. “On our show, we always say that dance is the universal language. It brings us all together, which I think is something we all need during these challenging times.”
