‘America’s Got Talent’ Recap: The Best and Worst Acts From Week 5

America’s Got Talent rolled out its fifth week of auditions on Tuesday night. It featured dancers, eye-popping performances (literally!), and a new judge at the Judge’s desk.

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the best and worst auditions from week five:

The Best

Shaquira McGrath

The singer from Georgia was by far the best act of the night. She has a really fun personality and said she would sing in the back with the cooks at the Atlanta Braves stadium. Well, her days of singing with the cooks may be over after this audition.

She sang Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman”, a surprising song choice, and she blew the roof off. The reaction from the judges and audience brought her to tears. To no one’s surprise, she got four yeses and advanced to the next round.

Winston

Now, I’m no fan of card tricks but this magician from Venezuela made card tricks really dope! He sat in a chair and became “possessed” by the cards, making one appear after the other until they covered his entire arm at one point.

His stage presence, acting skills, and overall personality really sold the trick. The judges quickly gave him four yeses as he advanced to the next stage of the competition.

The Worst

Joseifina Monasterio

The body builder from Venezuela may have been the biggest waste of time in the show’s 15 seasons thus far. Now, I’d love to look like her when I’m in my 70s but I have no idea what the act was. It was like she came to just show off her body. The only good moment was when host Terry Crews came out and did some posing with her.

She got four no’s and did not make it past the audition stage.
