Batwoman is approaching the end of its freshman season and Sunday night’s episode saw Team Batwoman and Gotham’s villains on a search to find Lucius Fox’s journal. Plus a new iconic villain was teased at the end of the episode.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of 1×18, titled “If You Believe In Me, I’ll Believe In You”.
The fight for Lucius’ journal
The majority of the episode was spent with Kate and her team fighting the villains for Lucius Fox’s journal. After Kate visits Tommy Eliot in Arkham, she and Luke track a call down to a club where a mobster he confirmed he was keeping the journal. Julia joins Batwoman to find the journal but she gets captured, interrogated, and tortured by some thug.
Batwoman also gets captured by the mobster and he offers to sell her to the highest bidder. Mary comes to try and save the day, bidding to get Batwoman (or her suit) but gets shot down. Luckily, she works her magic to get Kate free and out of danger. Batwoman heads up to the roof and fights Magpie for the journal and finally gets it.
Remember Kate’s ex-fling, Reagan? Well, she is back and after a hook up with Kate, she steals the journal from her. Reagan meets up with Magpie, who turns out to be her sister, giving her the journal. Meanwhile, Julia gets a call from someone unknown about wanting the journal and as the episode ends, we learn Mouse has the journal but it’s in code.
Alice creates a new villain
The subplot of the episode involved Alice, Mouse, and Tommy. Tommy wanted out of Arkham and Alice promised they can mold his face into anyone he wants. Alice put Tommy’s face on another prisoner to make it look like Tommy committed suicide but in reality, she may have created another villain in the process. Don’t believe me? Just look at next week’s promo as proof.
Other Thoughts
- Anyone else laugh at the fact Mary was about to take a selfie in the Batcave? You just know that was about to be going on the ‘gram if Luke didn’t stop her.
- How many underground clubs does Gotham have? It’s pretty obvious that’s where all the crime is happening, so the GCPD really needs to step up their game.
