This week’s episode of The Flash answered the question of what happened to Kamilla and also saw Cisco try to free Nash from the clutches of Thawne.
In case you missed it, here’s a recap of episode 6×15, titled “The Exorcism of Nash Wells”.
Nash’s connection to Allegra revealed
As the title might suggest, the main plot of the episode revolved around Nash as Cisco, Cecile, and Barry tried to free him from Thawne’s control before he was lost forever and his body was completely taken over.
Cecile was brought in to help monitor Nash’s psyche while Cisco and Caitlin hook Nash up to a device that’s supposed to draw Thawne out of him for good. Cecile helped “transport” Barry and Cisco into Nash’s mind and forces him to revisit the death of his daughter-figure Maya, Allegra’s doppelganger. Thawne was feeding off Nash’s regret and anger and the only way to ultimately free him was for Nash to face that memory head-on.
With help from Cisco, Nash walked into his memory. He saw himself on a treasure hunt with Maya, who ultimately fell to her death because he had taught her that “the prize is everything”. Once he accepts his role in this tragedy, it’s enough to overpower Thawne and Nash is able to regain control of his body.
Mirror-Kamilla
One of the bigger questions at the end of last week’s episode was what happened to Kamilla when Mirror-Iris shot her with the mirror gun. Well, right off the bat we see that Kamilla is now mirrorfied (yes, I made that word up) and two of them were tasked with getting a Prismatic Refractor for Eva.
Things were going according to plan until Black Hole’s new light-based assassin, Sunshine, foiled it. The Flash showed up and despite some missteps, he and Joe worked together to ultimately bring Sunshine down. While they were distracted, Kamilla and Mirror-Iris got the Prismatic Refractor and took it back to Eva, who wants “liberation”; whatever that entails remains to be seen.
Other Thoughts
- Cecile bringing garlic, a wooden stake, and holy water to help Cisco exorcise Nash was so funny. I’m slightly embarrassed at how much I laughed at that scene.
- It was really nice to see Caitlin back as Dr. Snow instead of Frost. I feel Caitlin is more needed this season with everything going on than Frost is, so it is nice to see her back to being part of Team Flash again.
- Tom Cavanaugh KILLED it in this episode. He brilliantly played two different characters and skillfully portrayed their entirely different emotions. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
