‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: The Mouse is unmasked in Group B Playoffs
The Masked Singer continued its Group B Playoffs on Wednesday night as the five remaining acts battled to keep their identity secret to move on into the group championship next week.
Without further ado, let’s jump into this recap and the big reveal.
Banana
Kicking this show off was everyone’s favorite yellow fruit. His clue package featured a “Git Er Done” phrase, numbers, and cowboy boots. His performance of Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart” was a good attempt but proved he isn’t a singer by any means.
Who is behind the mask? My guess: comedian Jeff Foxworthy
Mouse
Her clue package this week only furthered my theory of who was behind the mask. She sang “This Will Be (an Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole and said Cole is a “good friend”; add to the clue that she is a Grammy winner and who is behind the mask has become very obvious.
Who is behind the mask? My guess: music icon Dionne Warwick
Frog
The big amphibian performed a really odd version of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” this week and while the arrangement was way off, it showed off his rapping skills to the max. His dancing was also solid, so you know he is a performer. The clues didn’t really give anything away, but I know that voice for sure so I don’t need them.
Who is behind the mask? My guess: rapper and actor Bow Wow
Taco
The taco easily stumped me this week because he changed up his voice from last week. In his clue package, he mentioned being a hothead before meeting the woman of his dreams and his performance of Elvis Presley’s “Bossa Nova Baby” was good. But its how he was talking to the judges after his performance that made me figure out who this is.
Who is behind the mask? My guess: Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron
Kitty
The final performance of the night belonged to the furry feline. I’ve never heard Brett Young’s “Mercy” before and she sang it beautifully. Her clue package did not give much away but I know that voice from somewhere – I’m just not sure which kids show she is from.
Who is behind the mask? My guess: Victorious and Dynasty star Elizabeth Gillies
The Results
Following all of the performances, host Nick Cannon returned with the results. The audience vote decided Kitty would be going home. Before the unmasking, the judges were nearly unanimous in saying it was Warwick. When the mask came off, they (and I!) were right. It was THE Dionne Warwick.
