‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: Miss Monster gets eliminated in Group A Championship

Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer saw the final four acts battle it out in the Group A Championship. By the end of the night, one masked celebrity would be eliminated and the final three would advance to the Super 9.

So who was unlucky on this night? Let’s dive straight in!

Turtle

Kicking off the night was the shell-tastic Turtle. In honor of Valentine’s Day this week, each masked celebrity got to give a valentine to a judge of their choice. Turtle chose Nicole Scherzinger, telling her “I’ll never forget the morning we spent together. It was Turtle-y awesome.” Uh, this is a family show, guys!

Seriously though, his performance of Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” was on point and his dance moves only proves he’s done this before.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: former Summerland star Jesse McCartney.

Miss Monster

Next up was the one-eyed Miss Monster. The biggest giveaway was from her hairstylist (also in disguise), who said the celebrity has “good hair”. Her performance of “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore supported my theory this is an older woman with a soulful voice.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: music legend Chaka Khan.

Kangaroo

Okay, there’s a theory going around online that the Kangaroo is model Jordyn Woods, but I’m not ready to give in to that theory just yet. The clues so far have said she has a “little roo” and she “held the family together during a tragedy”.

Her performance of Rihanna’s “Diamonds” was easily the best performance of the night and it tells me this has to be someone who has a history of singing. Combine that with the clues so far and I think I know who this is.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.

White Tiger

The show ended with what is likely the worst performance in the show’s history. White Tiger sang (and I use that word very loosely!) a pretty terrible rendition of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and he honestly didn’t even sing some parts. To be honest, it was quite pathetic. His clues were provided by a friend with a really thick Boston accent. I think it’s pretty obvious who this is at this point.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The Results

Following all the performances, host Nick Cannon returned with the results. He revealed that Miss Monster received the lowest number of votes and therefore was eliminated. Before she departed, she took off her mask and revealed herself to be singing legend Chaka Khan!
