Batwoman | Season 1 Episode 7 | Tell Me The Truth Scene | The CW

This episode of week’s Batwoman saw Kate and Sophie’s issues regarding their past take center stage as Alice’s plan for her sister became a little more clear. In the end, I’m still curious about what exactly is planned for the rest of the season now that we’re a third of the way through the first season.

Here’s three of the biggest questions I have following episode 1×07, titled “Tell Me The Truth”:

What does the future hold for Sophie and Kate?

The relationship between Sophie and Kate was the main focus of the episode on Sunday and it’s a little rocky after everything that went down. Remember in last week’s recap when I said Sophie wouldn’t out Kate to anyone? Well, that ship has sailed.

The episode begins with Sophie confronting Batwoman and giving her an ultimatum: if Kate doesn’t reveal her identity to her Jacob, then Sophie will. Sophie is being stupid here because she hasn’t actually seen Kate in the costume; she is just going off a strong feeling she’s got. After a bad dinner between the pair, Sophie mentions to Jacob that Kate is Batwoman.

We also got a glimpse into the pair’s life at the Military Academy all those years ago. It turns out that it was Jacob who advised Sophie to sign the letter denouncing their relationship or else she would face being kicked out. I knew Jacob was a hardass, but that was a douchebag move.

So the big question is what impact will all of this have on the relationship of the pair moving forward? They decided to distance themselves from each other despite obviously still being in love with one another. However, I almost feel as if Kate doesn’t fully trust Sophie anymore, especially after all their history was brought back up again. Kate’s suggestion to take a break might be the right move for now.

Will Julia Pennyworth return?

There was a fresh face on Sunday night’s show, a blonde bombshell named Jenny Pennyworth. Yes, the daughter of Bruce’s butler, Alfred. She helped Kate throw Sophie off her scent by dressing up in the Batsuit so that Sophie would see both women there and it would ultimately give her an alibi. Jenny also gets shot by the armor-piercing gun, but is ultimately okay.

Jenny goes off after the episode but will she return? I don’t think they’d introduce her character for just one episode and be done with her. I’d love to see her join Team Batwoman as much as Kamilla has on The Flash. Plus, I’m a sucker for a good British accent.

What’s the real story behind Alice’s “tea party”?

Okay, I know I asked this in last week’s recap too, but it looks like my theory of Alice forcing Kate to choose between Sophie and her father at the tea party is happening. Mouse was disguised as Jacob the entire episode since the real Jacob was dealing with his messy divorce out of town. It wasn’t shocking to see Mouse as the fake Jacob because he did nothing that the real Jacob wouldn’t do. That reveal was poorly thought out in my opinion.

Anyway, Alice mentions that she has everything ready for the tea party. And judging by the preview for the next episode, it’s going down the rabbit hole (see what I did there?). I’m just bummed we have to wait until December 1 for the next episode.
