‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Renewed for Season 16 and 17 at ABC

Grey Sloan Memorial isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!

Grey’s Anatomy fans — like myself — can rejoice because it was just announced that the longtime and groundbreaking medical drama has been renewed for two more seasons. Ellen Pompeo has also renewed her contract through 2021, which means she will be around for both seasons as well. Meredith Grey is staying put, everyone!

It was also announced that Chris Carmack, Jake Borelli and Greg Germann have been promoted to series regulars. Germann and Borelli have been recurring for the past two seasons, and Carmack recently joined the show at the beginning of its current season.

“We are excited to continue revealing their characters and we are beyond thrilled to welcome them to the Grey’s Anatomy family.” Krista Vernoff said in a statement.

None of this news is surprising because no matter how many seasons Grey’s Anatomy has been going, it still ranks as one of the highest rated shows come Thursday nights. In fact, it was the top-rated drama series on ABC this season, averaging 6.83 million total live viewers and a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo.

At this rate, this show will outlive us all and we are not complaining!
