Tamar Braxton wins Season 2 of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

Media personality Tamar Braxton has been crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother Season 2, taking home the $250,000 grand prize.

The finale saw the final five of Tamar Braxton, Dina Lohan, Ricky Williams, Lolo Jones, and Kandi Burruss battle it out to be the last one standing. By the end of the night, we saw two Head of Household (HoH) competitions, one Power of Veto (PoV), and three evictions.

We picked up with the first HoH, which saw the final five fly between the two platforms to complete a puzzle before their buzzer sounds and puzzle falls. After a few fails, Ricky finally won the Head of Household competition. He quickly nominated and, to no one’s surprise, put Kandi and Dina on the block.

The final PoV competition saw a heist-themed game with the celebrities having to get items from past games and avoid the lasers. It was a very, very cool competition to see play out. Lolo had the fastest time of 5:05 and won the final PoV. At the veto meeting, she decided to not use it.

We got to the first live eviction of the night and for the first time, we had a tie. HoH Ricky broke the tie as he sent Kandi to the jury and into an interview with host Julie Chen Moonves.

“I kind of saw it coming,” a tearful Kandi told Julie after exiting the house. “I’m a woman of my word and I would’ve taken Ricky to the end if he saved me. I would have stuck to my word.”

It was then time for the final HoH competition of the season. The final four who could correctly identify the most false statements about their ex-housemates would win. At the end of seven questions, it was down to Tamar and Ricky. The tiebreaker saw them answer how long in seconds was the breaking celebrity news twist from the moment it started to the moment it ended. Ricky came closest to the correct answer and he won the final HoH.

Ricky then had to evict two celebrities and chose to send Dina and Lolo to the jury. His decision shocked both Tamar and the audience in the studio.

“It is frustrating,” Lolo said after her eviction. “He offered me a deal, but I feel it was not fair to the alliance. I think I would have had more votes in the end. But the move he just made, I don’t know if I would want to continue this friendship.”

As for Dina, she said the experience was amazing and she has friends for life.

After major filler, Julie returned to reveal how the jury voted. She revealed that Tamar had beaten Ricky and won Season 2 of Celebrity Big Brother by a unanimous 9-0 vote.

With her win, Tamar became the first African American winner in Big Brother history and the second unanimous in 11 years.

“I’m so grateful to God,” Tamar said after exiting the house. “Thank you all for being my life long friends. Thank you so much. I’m so grateful.”

Lastly, Julie revealed America chose Tom Green as their favorite houseguest and he took home a $25,000 cash prize.
