‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ recap: Who is going to win it all?

The finale of America’s Got Talent: The Champions is just one week away and on Monday night, the final 12 acts got one last chance to perform for the panel of superfans and the chance to be named best act in the world.

In case you missed it, here is a recap of the acts:

Cristina Ramos

The winner of Spain’s Got Talent went first and took to the stage to perform “Call Me”, which provided a high energy start to the night. While Cristina was really impressive the first time, the magic wears off once you’ve seen her perform again. She got the “death spot” of the night, so that’s probably a doom-and-gloom sign.

Preacher Lawson

The funnyman from Season 12 took his final shot at the title with a hilarious routine where he talked about people’s gym routines and literally ripped his shirt off. In my opinion, Preacher has been one of the best comedians to ever be on the America’s Got Talent stage in 13 seasons. I feel he has a very, very good shot at the title.

Darci Lynn

The winner of America’s Got Talent Season 12 may have been eliminated earlier in the competition, but she was brought back as one of two wildcards for the finals. She proved to the judges that they made the right decision as she performed an opera routine with her puppet. A puppet singing opera! Amazing!

Darci has cemented herself in America’s Got Talent history as the youngest ventriloquist to win the show, but will she become a two-time champion? After that, she has a really good shot at being in the top two.

Deadly Games

The danger act earned a spot in the finals thanks to getting the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum. And judging from final performance, it was easy to see why. Alfredo tied Anna to a spinning wheel and threw knives at her; while some did not stick, it made the performance even that much better.

They did not stop there as Alfredo invited the judges and host Terry Crews to the stage. He lined them all up and had them hold balloons before shooting a straight shot arrow to pop them all at once. This was VERY impressive and really should be a top five act next week.

Kechi

She returned to the stage one final time, thanks to Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer. She sang Sia’s “Opportunity” and while I did not love the song choice, she has a really beautiful voice. Sadly, I don’t feel she has done enough to win this competition.

Brian Justin Crum

The America’s Got Talent Season 11 finalist gave it his all for his final performance. He sang “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman (Cowell’s favorite film) and he brought the house down. Crum has been one of my favorite singers on America’s Got Talent ever since he sang “Creep” during judge cuts. He is talented and has a bright career ahead of him.

Jon Dorenbos

The former NFL long snapper-turned-magician was the other wildcard brought back; he made a case for why he deserved that and to win. He asked each judge to identify a place, picture, or card. He then brought Crews out to assist him with turning over four chalkboards, revealing he correctly guessed what each judge would pick. It got crazier as he then showed a video showing each judge making the same prediction during his original season.

Angelica Hale

Hale is an amazing singer for 11-years-old, singing “Impossible” during this final night of competition. There is no doubt she has one incredible career ahead of her, but I don’t think she’s done enough to win.

Kseniya Simonova

The sand artist earned a spot in the finals thanks to Crews’ golden buzzer. The way she works her magic with sand is simply stunning. She pulled on your heart strings as she told a beautiful story about love always winning, a message I agree with wholeheartedly.

Paul Potts

Without a doubt, Paul is one of the best opera singers in the world. He gave it his all in his final performance as he sang and stunned the crowd in the process. A true class act.

Shin Lim

The reigning champion is one of the best, if not THE best, magicians to ever be on this show. Although I was not impressed with his finale performance because he is still fresh in my mind after seeing him win it all less than a year ago, there is no denying what he does is really special.

Susan Boyle

The big moment of the night came with Susan Boyle’s epic final performance. She recreated her original audition from a nine years ago, performing “I Dreamed A Dream.” She stunned the crowd and brought back all the feels.
