‘The Flash’ 5×10 recap: Nora makes a big choice about Thawne but did Barry make a big mistake?

WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers about the tenth episode of The Flash titled “The Flash & The Furious”. Do not read if you have not seen the episode or read at your own risk.
Is Nora working with Reverse Flash? Is she secretly evil? Those were the burning questions fans had during the midseason finale of The Flash a few weeks ago. Tuesday night gave us some answers but also elicited more questions in the process.
Tuesday’s midseason premiere picked up where Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) time traveled to 2049 to see Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh). Right away, she makes it clear she doesn’t trust him after learning how he killed her grandmother (and Barry’s mother). Thawne shoots back that he gave Nora time travel lessons and time with her father but she doesn’t care and will no longer be helping him.
She may reconsider that decision by the end of the episode.
Meanwhile, Team Flash has to deal with another meta. This time it’s Raya aka Silver Ghost, who has the ability to take control of vehicles. Barry’s (Grant Gustin) powers take a hit when he touches the car and the dark matter nearly sees him phase into the ground. As a result, Barry spends the entire episode in the pipeline. In all honesty, this is likely due to Grant shooting Elseworlds.
This leaves Nora to handle things. She helps Cecile by giving her CSI evidence against Weather Witch aka Joss. It appears that Joss and Raya were working together, especially after she broke him out.
However, that theory is quickly debunked after Joss uses her powers to crash a Wayne tech (hello Batwoman reference) car that was stolen from ARGUS. About that, remember on Arrow when Diggle said no one can break into ARGUS? Ya might want to get a security upgrade, guys!
Anyway, Nora comes to realize that everyone may have some good in them, so she speeds back to 2049 to tell Thawne she will give him a chance to prove he has good in him. And they better hurry, he only has 51 minutes and counting to live.
Episode notes
- The other plot of this episode involved Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin/Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) getting into an argument over a metahuman cure. Cisco wants one, but Caitlin (and Killer Frost) doesn’t. Being unable to use his Vibe powers has made Cisco realize he wants to be normal, but Caitlin does not want to give Killer Frost up because it is a part of her.
- We finally got the answer to where Joe has been all this time: He took baby Jenna to visit Wally in order to keep her safe from Cicada.
