Cover Wars: “Shallow” from A Star is Born

We’re starting the new year off with a bang by bringing back our beloved Cover Wars feature. This monthly feature will showcase covers of classic and recent hit songs by up and coming new artists. The first song for 2019 is none other then “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from their award-winning movie A Star is Born.

“Shallow” is a stunning duet between Gaga and Cooper. The power behind Gaga’s vocals packs a punch that makes the entire song unforgettable from the minute you hear it. This is, in contrast, to Cooper’s softer crooning that took me by surprise in the best way.

This strong ballad was a hit among both fans and critics, having garnered many awards and nominations. It won the award for Best Song at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and Best Original Song at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. The song also received four nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards as well as the Oscar nomination for Best Song.
