‘Gotham’ final season trailer teases major scene between Bruce and Jeremiah

Gotham is airing its fifth and final season in the new year and judging by the preview Fox released on Friday, the show is going out with an epic bang.
The network released the promo for the final season on Friday and it teased one major scene between Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Jeremiah Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) that all but confirms what fans have been speculating for the longest time: Jeremiah is Gotham’s version of The Joker, despite the network being unable to use the moniker and green hair because the powers-that-be wanted them reserved for DCEU films. The promo even teases the return of ACE Chemicals, which is originally responsible for transforming Red Hood into the madman Joker we know and love (Detective Comics #168 – Feb. 1951).
Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman even used the same origin story by having Jack Napier fall into a vat of chemicals as Batman tries to save him, later emerging as the perma-smiley, green-haired Joker.
Other notable villains seen in the Gotham promo include Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, The Scarecrow, Edward Nygm, Bane and The Penguin aka Oswald Copplepot.
The final season of the show will follow the fall of Gotham and the evolution of Bruce as he finally becomes the Caped Crusader in the last episode of the series.
