Your Guide to San Diego Comic Con 2019 Open Registration

It’s the most stressful time of the year.

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 registration opens up this Saturday, November 10th at 9 am PST. The convention sells out in mere minutes, and thousands of hopefuls anxiously wait in the online queue every year hoping they are lucky enough to obtain passes. If it’s your first time trying for passes, there are a few key things you should know in order to beat the agonizing blue circle.

Only Comic-Con Member ID accounts that were created and confirmed prior to October 31, 2018at 9:30 AM PST are eligible to participate. If you want to confirm your eligibility, log in to your Member ID account and look for the green “OK CC’19 Attendee Open Reg” in the top, right corner.

Your personal registration code and link to the waiting room will be sent to you via email at least 48 hours in advance of the sale. They will also be available in your Member ID account at that time. The room opens at 8:00 AM PST and you must enter before 9:00 AM PST. It doesn’t matter how early or late that you click on the link, as long as you are in between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM you will be randomly assigned to a place in line. Do NOT refresh while in the Waiting Room. As long as the blue circle is spinning, your page is active and will automatically refresh every 2 minutes. If you refresh, you risk being removed from the waiting room.

Your personalized link only works for one device and one browser, so do not share it with others. Multiple tabs within the same browser can confuse the waiting room/badge sale process and cause your transaction to fail. You can purchase badges for up to two other people in addition to yourself, but they will need to use their own link and registration code.

If you are selected to register, you will need to enter your Comic-Con Member ID and Last Name as well as the Comic-Con Member ID and Last Name of everyone in your party. Make sure you are organized and communicating with your group. If someone from your group gets through and adds your ID, your Comic-Con ID will be locked for 15 minutes and you will not be able to purchase badges on your own account.

Lastly, avoid the back button at all costs! This can cause major problems in your purchasing process and can cause you to lose your spot in the check out process.

Demand FAR exceeds supply, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the chance to purchase. There’s always next year!
