Television seems to have taken San Diego Comic Con by storm, becoming more of a reason that con-goers attend year after year. Whether it’s Supernatural‘s persistent presence or even a new show like Castle Rock, TV shows have definitely forged their place in the convention world. Although we’re still 9 months away, here are some of my predictions for what TV shows we might see at the 50th annual San Diego Comic Con in 2019.
Game of Thrones — With a release set for April 2019, it’s not likely that we will see Game of Thrones at San Diego Comic Con. But, with that being said, the Game of Thrones presence has always been large so I would find it odd if they don’t send it off in a special way.
Freeform Shows — Freeform is one of the networks that goes all out for San Diego Comic Con. In the past, they have had activation sites like the Cloak & Dagger experience which recreated the moment when Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy’s (Olivia Holt) powers interact by being harnessed into bungees that propel you backwards.
Stranger Things — The Stranger Things Hall H panel in 2017 was one of my favorites of the whole weekend. The energy from the cast, along with the brand new trailer they released made for a near perfect panel. With an ambiguous “summer 2019” premiere date, it’s likely that they will reveal something at Comic Con.
Supernatural — This one is pretty much a given. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have been a staple of the convention since 2007 and I don’t see them going anywhere any time soon. The show is the longest running show on The CW and still has one of the strongest fan bases.
Titans — I simply don’t see enough people talking about this show, but I’ll post about that later. I think a nice solid San Diego Comic Con presence would be amazing for this show. It’s a great show that features a lot of fan favorite characters. They had a pretty cool activation site last year and I’m actually really hoping this one makes the cut again.
