CBS’ Celebrity Big Brother to premiere on January 21

Celebrity Big Brother is back and it will return sooner than you think.

CBS officially announced that the second season of Celebrity Big Brother will premiere on Monday, January 21 with a two-hour season premiere as host Julie Chen Moonves returns to welcome the next batch of celebs into the Big Brother house.

Like the first season, the show will air multiple nights a week until the show’s two-hour season finale on Wednesday, February 13. The second season sees more episodes but fewer two-hour episodes like it did in season one.

With the announcement of Celebrity Big Brother‘s premiere date, CBS also confirmed what we all already knew: Chen Moonves is back fronting Big Brother after Deadline reported that she was planning to host the reality show for “years to come.” However, that came into question amid allegations of sexual misconduct by her husband Leslie Moonves.

While CBS has not officially renewed the show for a 21st season yet, casting is already open and Chen Moonves’ contract is good for the upcoming celebrity edition as well as one more summer run of the show.

The first season of the show was won by Hairspray star Marissa Jaret Winokur as she beat out TV host Ross Mathews to take home the $250,000 prize.
