Your Guide to Attending NYCC 2018
Nerds rejoice!
The time for purchasing New York Comic Con badges has finally come. This year’s convention runs from October 4th through the 7th at the Jacob Javits Conveniton Center, with some panels and special events at venues around New York City, including Madison Square Garden and the Hammerstein Ballroom. This is a guide for making the badge purchasing process as stress-free as possible.
Similar to San Diego Comic Con, NYCC will be requiring Fan Verification in order to purchase a badge. If you have not registered yet, Fan Verification will open up to the public from June 13th through July 8th for all new fans.
If you confirmed and updated your Fan Verification account from 2016 and 2017 before May 30th, you should have received an email from ReedPOP yesterday regarding Badge Presale. On Sunday, June 10th just click through the link provided in the email and it will lead you directly to the registration page. The link is currently active, but you won’t be able to purchase badges until at 10:00 AM ET. The link is unique to your fan verification ID, so be sure not to share it with your friends even if you are purchasing badges on their behalf. If the link is being used in too many browsers, it will be flagged and become inactive.
Each fan has the opportunity to purchase a maximum of four (4) badges per type and sixteen (16) badges in total. If you are purchasing for others, you need to have their email addresses ready. Each badge needs to be assigned during checkout to a person who confirmed their Fan Verification account for 2018. You’ll have to assign yourself to your badge(s) as well as any friends or family you’re buying badges for. The time you’re allowed to complete your purchase is limited. You will not be able to checkout if you do not complete this crucial step and could end up losing any NYCC badges in your cart if time runs out.
A limited number of badges are available during the presale, so if you don’t end up getting the passes that you want, you will have another chance during the general sale on July 15th.
