Man Crush Monday: Matt Lanter
If you’re not watching Timeless every Sunday night at 10/9c on NBC, you should be. I just recently binged the entire series and I feel stupid for having not watched it earlier. It’s without a doubt the best show on television you’re probably not watching. Anywho, the reason I bring up Timeless is that I’m granting the title of this week’s Man Crush to one of the show’s stars: Matt Lanter.
Matt first started to get attention as a contestant on Bravo’s reality show Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model. Even though he did not win the competition, he started booking roles on 8 Simple Rules, Point Pleasant, Commander in Chief, and Heroes among other projects as a result. In 2008, he voiced the role of Anakin Skywalker in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Matt continued to voice the role of Anakin Skywalker on the television show of the same name.
In 2009, he began a major recurring role on the first season of The CW’s 90210 as Liam Court, which is without a doubt the role he’s most known for today. He was bumped up to a series regular for season two and remained a series regular for the rest of the show’s run.
As I mentioned earlier, he’s currently starring as Master Sergeant Wyatt Logan in the fan favorite series, Timeless. Wyatt is easily one of my favorite characters on television, maybe ever. As a soldier whose job is to protect Rufus and Lucy, we constantly see his strength, both physically and emotionally, as he’s had to endure some tough stuff throughout his life. He also, at times, can be a reckless hothead and not fully think before putting things into action, especially when it comes to protecting the people he cares about. But that’s just Wyatt — sweet, noble, and caring — and it shows. He always does the right thing, even if he accidentally hurts himself or others in the process.
I love Wyatt for all of those reasons, but if I’m being honest, part of my adoration for him is due to the simple fact that Matt Lanter plays this character. I mean look at him. Those damn blue eyes get me EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I hate to break it to you ladies, but Matt is married to his longtime love, Angela. But its totally okay because these two are freaking adorable together. Matt helps Angela run her blog, Hello Gorgeous, and together, they have a podcast, Hello Baby, which documents their adventures as new parents. Total #couplegoals, right?
