The CW is Adding a New Night for Programming This Fall: Sunday Nights

Can’t get enough of your favorite CW shows during the weekday? Well, have no fear, because The CW is adding an additional night to its programming!

Sunday Funday is turning into Sunday Showday beginning Fall 2018! Ever since the launch of The CW back in 2006, Sunday programming is something the network shied away from. Now, original content will air during the 8pm-10pm timeslot.

The CW has less programming compared to other networks. These extra two hours on Sunday nights will be a great way for The CW to expand their platform. The extra time is also neccessary considering The CW’s recent decision to order a record 9 pilots this season, 8 standalone ones and a planted Supernatural spinoff.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz states:

“Broadcasting remains the foundation of our multi-platform approach to bringing our programming to viewers. Over the past seven years, The CW has added more than 80 hours of original scripted programming to its schedule – now that number can continue to climb, as we grow our broadcast lineup, and continue to add content on every platform.”

He went on to say:

“By expanding to six nights, The CW is now able to give our fans even more of the series they’re so passionate about.”

It has yet to be confirmed which shows are returning in the fall. But once we do know, who knows, we might have a scattered line-up of the superhero shows! Stay tuned to Talk Nerdy With Us for updates on The CW’s newly expanded television lineup.
