Most people discovered Matt Czuchry (pronounced zoo-crie) during his run on The Gilmore Girls (2004-2007) as Rory’s on-again/off-again boyfriend Logan. The character was brought back in 2016’s revival mini-series Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life and may have left Rory with the surprise of a lifetime.

He’s also starred in a number of high profile series, such as The Good Wife as Cary, Friday Night Lights as Chris, in Hack (2003-2004) as Jamie, and in The Young Americans, the first show he was a regular on in 2000, as Sean.

Additionally, Matt has a great number of cameos on his resume, including Veronica Mars, The Practice and Jake 2.0.. And he even voiced Braniac 5 in the animated Justice League Unlimited series.

You can find him in the TV movies Dark Shadows and Gravity, and the feature films I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell and Eight-Legged Freaks (currently on my watch list).

Matt now stars in the new hit medical drama The Resident (Mon. on Fox). He plays senior resident Dr. Conrad Hawkins, an idealist, outspoken rebel who stands up against the evils of medical administration and constantly challenges Chief of Staff, Dr. Bell, nicknamed HODAD – Hands of Death and of Destruction. I love this show, and Matt is amazing as the intense young doctor… he’s also hot. Did I mention he’s hot?

Matt was born in New Hampshire in 1977 but grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee. He graduated with top honors from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. He attended the school on a tennis scholarship and was a NCAA tennis player. While  there, he won the Mr. College of Charleston pageant in 1998. (I did mention he is hot!) Matt took one theater class in college and the professor told this gifted young actor to change his major from History/Political Science to Drama and the rest is, as they say, history.

What can I say? Matt is as talented as he is handsome, and The Resident is a great new addition to Monday night TV. Check out the series and Matt on Fox at 8 pm.
