New Music Announced from Singer/Songwriter Butch Parnell

Singer-songwriter, Butch Parnell, recently announced details for this latest EP, The Fall, which has been set for release on November 17th, 2017. The Fall is a 6-track collection that Butch himself calls “…a familiar story of love and loss that I’ve tried to tell as simply and without pretense as I can.”

With the announcement Parnell also released his debut single “Give Me a Reason” which he describes as a classic ‘boy meets girl who is great for him, but boy is not mature enough to handle an actual functioning relationship so he runs off into the night back to the chaos of people and temptation that is not good for him.’ This song was written as a plea for the girl to come after the boy and convince him to stay. But, the girl understands that the boy is just a self-conscious teenager caught in an adult body and doesn’t.” “Give Me a Reason” is classic storytelling blended with a country-folk vibe that is both sweet and soulful.

Dave Parnell had early success as a singer/songwriter under the name Runaway Dorothy. Early on he grabbed the attention of Adam Duritz of Counting Crows and Roseanne Cash and later toured to promote his first album The Arc. After several years and a couple of albums under Runaway Dorothy, Parnell started writing new music under his father’s name – Butch Parnell.

Under his new moniker Parnell has released a handful of EPs including The Brightness EP (2015), The Shatter EP (2016), The 3rd EP (2017), and his latest single “Great” (2017) because he prefers to release his music to fans quicker than he can finish an entire album.
