“Never Here” Hits the LA Film Festival

Camille Thoman’s film Never Here premiered at the LA Film Festival this year. The film stars Mireille Enos, Sam Shepard, Goran Visnjic, Vincent Piazza, Nina Arianda, Ana Nogueira, and Desmin Borges. The film has just a list of producers that is just as long and notable, including Julian Cautherley, Elizabeth Yng-Wong, Bronwyn Cornelius, Neal Dodson, Zachary Quinto, Dan Milne, Wenke Sterns, Alan Pao, and Luke Daniels.

The film follows an installation artist, Miranda Fall, and her journey. Here is the official description of the movie from the LA Film Festival:

Miranda follows, photographs and documents the lives of strangers to create her art. One night her secret lover witnesses a violent act from Miranda’s apartment window. To protect his identity, Miranda poses as the primary witness, making statements to the police about a crime she did not see. She begins to create a new piece of work based on these circumstances. This act sends Miranda into a maze of doubt and fear, blurring the lines between artist and subject.  Writer-director Camille Thoman’s debut feature immerses viewers in a taut psychological thriller, with sumptuous imagery and sonic clues that steadily seep into the subconscious mind. Lines of morality blur and nothing is as it seems in this eerily fascinating exploration of identity, voyeurism and loss of self.

Never Here is set to hit screens late 2017. I also had the chance to speak with Camille and Mireille on the carpet of the festival. Check out the interview below!
