It’s finally that time of the year. I am semi-excited and semi-filled with dread for the registration of San Diego Comic Con 2017 this Saturday, April 8th. I hope that the odds will be in all of our favor this year, since the slate of movies that have yet to be released this year is beyond crazy.
Here’s everything you need to know in order to become one of the lucky few that purchase badges for San Diego Comic Con:
Comic-Con 2017 Open Registration launches shortly after 9:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on April 8, 2017. The waiting room opens at 8:00 AM and you MUST be in the waiting room by 9:00 AM.
If you are eligible for Open Registration, you should have received an email from Comic Con yesterday, April 5th with a link to the Expo Logic waiting room and your personal registration code.
There is no need to rush to the landing page at 8:00 AM PDT! All attendees are randomly selected for badge purchase, so there is no advantage in arriving early.
Even if you are purchasing tickets for other people, you must have your personal registration code on hand to access the waiting room. I suggest getting to the waiting room at least 15 minutes before it closes just in case you have any issues.
The most critical detail is to make sure to check your computer’s browser settings prior to the sale! Your browser should have JavaScript and cookies enabled to function reliably with the Expo Logic waiting room.
The process is frustrating, but these measures ensure that only fans get the passes and pretty much eliminate the chance of scalpers obtaining them. That being said, there are more eligible attendees than there are badges available, so not everyone will be able to purchase passes. Fingers crossed that you’re one of the lucky ones!
SDCC takes place at the San Diego Convention Center July 19-23, 2017.
