TNWU Weekly Superlatives (January 29th – February 4th)

TALK NERDY WITH US WEEKLY TV SUPERLATIVE AWARDS:
Bad Guy/Girl of the week: Gotham
Jerome
Jerome wants to kill Bruce Wayne for no reason other than that’s all he remembers wanting to do before dying. So he takes him to a carnival that has people set up in traps. Jerome even staples Bruce’s arm (after fixing his face). (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)
Best Dressed: agents of s.h.i.e.l.d.
Thurston Koenig
Koenig #3 is doing a stand-up set about how people are “sheeple.” To complete the bit, he wears a shirt with a sheep crossed out. I like nerdy stuff, so this is right on my level. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)
Biggest OTP Moment: Teen wolf
stydia kiss
Stydia set sail on its maiden voyage in the most recent episode of MTV’s Teen Wolf. That’s right after a lot of angst and a lot of impatient waiting, Stiles and Lydia finally kissed again! The last time that Stiles and Lydia had been together had been just moments before the Ghost Riders had taken Stiles, who had professed his love for Lydia. In “Riders of the Storm,” Lydia finally confesses her love for Stiles. It wasn’t only the best OTP moment of the week, but also the most swoon-worthy. Here’s to hoping that the final ten episodes of the season will give us more of their relationship!
Most Emotional Scene: the 100
Clarke and abby talk
I’m going to be upfront about this one…I’m still carrying around a box of tissues because every time that I think about this scene, I get teary-eyed. It’s a scene that fans have been wanting for a long time, a moment between Clarke and Abby. But it was so much more than that. Clarke has a moment of vulnerability where she allows herself to feel Lexa’s loss, and she confesses to Abby that she loved Lexa. Of course, Abby being her mother, already knew that, and she recognizes the pain that her daughter is experiencing, having been through the same pain when Jake had been floated. It was a short scene, but it was packed with emotion, and it was exactly what fans needed.
Most Heartbreaking Moment: Scandal
Mellie Losing Marcus
After losing the election, Olivia piles insult on injury by suggesting to Mellie that Marcus was a climber not looking for love but for a leg up. After Olivia gets Marcus the White House Press Secretary job, Mellie feels betrayed again by Olivia and by the man who showed her love. Mellie makes me sad, but I’m guessing this is the fuel she needs to start kicking ass again. (Contributed by Shawn Cole)
best buddy moment: Santa Clarita Diet
Sheila and Joel Hammond
Sheila and Joel seem like a pretty normal couple dealing with a ho-hum existence and a sloppy toaster oven dial until Sheila turns into a Zombie. I couldn’t pick one moment because Netflix gave us a whole season of them, but these two adapting to haphazard killings and body dumps is good stuff. (Contributed by Shawn Cole)
best plot twist: agents of s.h.i.e.l.d.
The Koenigs are human
Ever since Season 1, we’ve been left wondering who, or what, Agent Koenig is. There have been multiple Koenigs: Eric, Sam, Billy, and the newly introduced Thurston. Many speculated that the Koenigs are LMDs, but this week finally answered the question. They are *not* LMDs; rather they were the technicians for the original LMD trial run. So they’re simply human quadruplets. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)
most suspenseful: Grey’s Anatomy
Where is Alex?
Shonda Rhimes made us wait for an entire episode and then another one before she gave us the fate of Alex Karev. Way back during the winter finale, we left Alex sitting in a waiting room ready to turn himself in. Not until the final minute of Grey’s did we find out Alex was free. I suppose we’ll forgive Shonda this time since the outcome was good. (Contributed by Shawn Cole)
performer of the week: the 100
Tasya Teles as Echo
In a premiere full of incredible performances, Tasya Teles’ performance took the cake and took our breath away. When we first met Echo back in season 2, she was just a girl stuck in a cage who needed Bellamy’s help. When we see her in the season 4 premiere, she’s a warrior woman leading an entire people, and she is ruthless! From temporarily taking control of Polis while Roan was unconscious to holding a knife to Bellamy’s throat, and ultimately to showing a much kinder side to Bellamy, Eho was AMAZING!!!
That’s it for this week! Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments and let us know if we missed anything or if there are any categories you would like us to add! We will see you next week with more Talk Nerdy With Us Weekly TV Superlative Awards!
