TNWU Weekly Superlatives (January 1st-7th)

TALK NERDY WITH US WEEKLY TV SUPERLATIVE AWARDS:

most badass character: Sweet/vicious

Ophelia trying to take the heat off Jules and herself

After Ophelia gets caught on camera attacking someone the campus is on lockdown.  The police are looking for someone with a cut on their arm like Ophelia’s and Harris suspects Jules is the vigilante.  To save them both, Ophelia dresses up as the vigilante, runs through the store, so Harris can see it’s not Jules and goes to one of their victims to cut his arm and frame him. (Contributed by Traci-Anne Canada)

Biggest OTP Moment: Shadowhunters

Malec 2×01 Balcony Scene

Malec won everyone’s hearts in season one and now the couple and the shippers are thinking: now what? The balcony scene takes place after the two had one of their first fights and harsh words were said. What I love about this scene is how maturely they ended up talking out their issue, how Magnus held Alec accountable for his actions, and how sincere his apology to Magnus was even if he had to stop the warlock from walking out on him again. You don’t give up on someone because they’re a hard choice. Good communication and accountability? I couldn’t ask for more. (Contributed by Danielle Mathias)

Most Emotional Scene: Conviction

Tess Confessing That she was the one who put the coffee guy in jail unjustly

Conviction is overall an intense, emotional show, but this scene was really wrenching.  When Tess was a teenager her aunt was murdered and Tess identified the wrong man, sending him to prison for years.   He’s out now and running a coffee truck which Tess visits, out of curiosity, guilt and shame.  She strikes up a friendship with him, but her coworker prods her into telling him the truth.  It didn’t go very well; Tess turns away for a moment and when she turns back, the young man is gone. MOST heartbreaking moment: sweet/vicious

Jules confronting Nate about her rape/Confessing to Kennedy about the rape

All season Jules has been trying to mentally recover from Nate raping her the previous semester and after being unable to have sex with her new boyfriend, she tearfully confronts Nate about what he did.  After her breakdown, she goes to her best friend Kennedy (Nate’s girlfriend) and tries to tell her what happened.  But Nate has already told Kennedy they had sex together, implying it was consensual and with Jules’ recent history of lying, Kennedy doesn’t know who to believe and turns her back on Jules. Most Heartwarming Moment: The Librarians

Zeke Telling Cindy He Likes Her for Who She is

After reality show reject Cindy fails in her plot to force everyone to love her, Zeke takes Cindy aside and tells her he thinks she is a great person just the way she is.  It was also heartwarming to see Zeke’s softer side and learn he isn’t just all about the treasure. Best Buddy Moment: Shadowhunters

Clary & Simon

Not sure if I’m the only one but throughout season one I kept asking myself: I get that they’re lifelong friends but where are those little friendship moments?  The EPs warned us that season two was going to be dark and tortured but I’m glad that they took time to show a sweet moment between Climon.  Kat McNamara and Alberto Rosende were so genuine in their portrayal that it could have easily been a behind the scenes clip.  It gave everyone a glimpse into these two characters as friends when they are saving the others life or making crucial decisions with or for one another; it makes you see what they’re fighting for. (Contributed by Danielle Mathias)

Honorable Mention: Flynn and Stone sniffing each other (The Librarians)

Weirdest Moment: Teen Wolf

The Entire Episode

Teen Wolf just came back from a short break, and the newest episode, “Ghosted,” was weird.  Scott, Malia, and Lydia travel to the abandoned town of Canaan, and things just get freaky.  Malia and Scott start seeing things.  They meet a woman named Lenore who turns out to be a banshee…she’s also kinda really creepy at first and doesn’t let them leave her house.  To be frank, Canaan is just a weird town.
