TNWU Weekly Superlatives (January 15th-21st)

TALK NERDY WITH US WEEKLY TV SUPERLATIVE AWARDS:

Best One Liner: Lucifer

“And what he does with a pan flute and a butter squash.”

The whole sequence of Chloe interviewing all of Lucifer’s lovers had me in hysterics, but when one of them said this, I fell on the floor. Lucifer’s response to Dan: “I didn’t have a zucchini.” (Contributed by Arlene Allen)

Bad Guy/Girl of the Week: Taboo

Sir Stuart Strange

Head of the East India company in England, he’s not above manipulation, blackmail, and murder to get what he wants, and what he wants is Delaney’s land. Jonathan Pryce is no spiritual guru in this series, that’s for sure. (Contributed by Arlene Allen)

Best Kiss: Lucifer

Chloe and Lucifer

We waited for it; we got it! Lucifer absolutely humbles himself before Chloe, and she moves in and initiates The Kiss. Deckerstar is real!!! (Contributed by Arlene Allen)

Most Swoon-Worthy Scene: Sherlock

Moriarty at any time

I’m a huge fan of Andrew Scott, so it was nice to see him back on screen as Jim Moriarty. Of course, we all know he died back in S2, but we were treated to a flashback in which he meets with Sherlock’s sister. The man knows how to swagger, and I definitely swooned! (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)

Most Emotional Scene: Sherlock

Sherlock tells Molly he loves her

In order to keep Molly from being blown up by a bomb in her apartment, Sherlock has to get her to say “I love you.” It’s hard for her to say because it’s true, so she asks him to say it first, only say it like he means it. (Contributed by Arlene Allen)

Most Heartbreaking Moment: Shadowhunters

Jace reciting the Parabatai Oath while holding a lifeless, unconscious Alec

This was hands down the most heartbreaking scene I’ve yet to see on Shadowhunters. Dominic Sherwood has come so incredibly far acting wise, and the proof is in scenes like this. Having the flashbacks to the Parabatai ceremony in between the scenes of Jace trying to revive Alec was already a genius, gut-wrenching move, but having Dom recite the oath in time pushed the scene, and many fans, over the edge. Then when it was evident Alec was not waking, Jace chose to hold him instead while barely getting out the rest of the oath. Hearing Jace’s broken, “Alec please don’t leave me.” had me in tears. For a moment, Shadowhunters truly had me believing that maybe Alec wasn’t going to wake up. Those few second of pure, genuine fear and doubt they got fans to feel is why they get this title. MOST HEARTfelt Reunion: Girl Meets world

Shawn Hunter and Jonathan Turner reunite

During Girl Meets Goodbye, everyone whose opinion Cory and Topanga value came to help them make a major decision. Do they stay in New York or move to London? As Boy Meets World fans, we were ecstatic to once again see Minkus, Eric, Mr. Feeny, Joshua, both Morgan’s, Harvey, Katy, Alan, Amy, Shawn and Mr. Turner. YES, after all these years we finally got to see Shawn and Mr. Turner together again on screen! And there was even a hug!

Funniest Scene: Bones

Bones tells Booth to get a vasectomy

After discussing the issue of whether or not to have more children with Angela, Bones blurts out to Booth to get a vasectomy. They are in the car on their way to interview suspects. Booth is completely stunned and tells Bones his sperm are like snipers, to which Bones replies, “I guess that makes my ovaries target practice.” (Contributed by Arlene Allen)

Best Plot-twist: Sherlock

Sherlock is one of four children

The reveal of a sister was shocking enough but finding out that Redbeard wasn’t Sherlock’s dog, but rather the nickname for his baby brother, Victor, was even more surprising. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)

Most Shocking: Gotham

Lee put a hit out on Gordon

Lee is still mad that Jim killed her husband even though he was infected with the rage virus. So she does what any rational person does and puts a hit out on him. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)

Most Terrifying Scene: Sherlock

Mycroft is chased by a clown

In order to get Mycroft to confess to having a sister, Sherlock psychologically tortures him by having a clown chase him in his own home. Sure it may just be a clown, but I’m a coulrophobe, so it’s terrifying. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley)
