Shadowhunters Announces Its Sebastian Verlac

Fan theories and internet rumors have been circling the Shadowhunters fandom for months after it was announced the highly anticipated character of Sebastian Verlac would be introduced in season two. Today, Freeform announced the actor now tapped to portray him, and it is none other than Will Tudor (Game of Thrones, Humans).

Sebastian is described as a ‘charming, brilliant and highly educated Shadowhunter with unrivaled fighting abilities.’ Originally from the London Institute, he finds his way to the New York Institute after befriending one of the show’s main characters. Will it be Jace with his new uncertainty of himself possibly separating him from his friends? Clary with her quest to understand her role as a Shadowhunter? Or someone else entirely? With Tudor slated to be a recurring guest star in the second half of the season, you’ll find out when the season continues on our screens later this year.

Tudor is currently in Toronto with the cast as he prepares to begin work on 2B (pictured with Shadowhunters’ Kat McNamara), and he’s already proving to be a great addition to this adorable cast. Just how cute he’ll appear on screen remains to be seen.

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series “The Mortal Instruments” by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. Now thrown into the world of living among faeries, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and demon hunting, Clary must rely on Shadowhunters Jace, Isabelle and Alec to navigate this new dark world with her best friend, Simon, in tow. Nothing is as it seems, including her close family friend Luke, who turned out to be a werewolf, as well as the mysterious warlock Magnus Bane, who has surprisingly become an ally in the search for Clary’s past.

“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG, Michael Reisz, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer. The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

Shadowhunters airs Mondays 8/7c on Freeform, and Tuesdays internationally on Netflix.
