Supergirl Flies High as #DCWeek Kicks off on The CW

Monday night is turning into a killer night for The CW with higher ratings and viewers than they’ve seen in years.
Monday, Nov. 28 was the kick-off of the Heroes vs. Aliens four-night crossover event on The CW, where Supergirl, The Flash, DC Legend’s of Tomorrow, and Arrow, all team up to take down the ultimate DC villain. The network saw that 3.5 million viewers were tuned into the first episode of the four-episode “mini-series,” putting last night at the highest numbers The CW has seen on a Monday night in over seven years. Supergirl was even placed at #2 in the 8-9pm slot for adults 18-34 and gave The CW their highest rated Monday in over five years for adults 18-49 (0.8/3) and over four years for adults 18-34 (0/7/3).
Now, I’m sure a lot of this had to do with the crossover event. It’s rare we see four separate shows team up to give us one incredible story. But that’s the beauty of The CW and the DC universe!
I’m also willing to bet that the storyline of the “ship” known as #Sanvers had a little something to do with it as well. Last night, fans rooting for the two (Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer) were finally given what we’d all been waiting for as Maggie realized her feelings for Alex.
Either way, Supergirl soared higher than any other TV show on The CW last night. Will it continue tonight as the second episode of the crossover airs during The Flash at 8/7c? We’ll have to wait and find out!
