After a run at Arena Stage in Washington D.C. and Second Stage in New York City, Dear Evan Hansen begins it’s journey today at its new home, the Music Box Theatre (239 W 45th St). The show doesn’t officially open until December 4th, 2016.

Tonight’s opening will be the first time fans across the globe will receive access to the Broadway opening night experience in real-time. Viewers can follow the behind-the-scenes action on the show’s official Periscope and Twitter channels, @DearEvanHansen, to see pre-show activity and interviews with the creative team, curtain call activity, and a special stage door moment with the cast following the show. Fans will also be able to watch the premiere of the show’s new music video of “Only Us,” which will be broadcast live at the exact time the song is being performed on stage.

It’s difficult to describe Dear Evan Hansen without giving too much away, but this is one show you definitely do not want to miss. Ben Platt gives a Tony-worthy performance as Evan Hansen that will equally make you laugh and cry. The cast of Dear Evan Hansen includes Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Mike Faist, Michael Park, Will Roland and Kristolyn Lloyd, and Michael Lee Brown, Garrett Long, Olivia Puckett, Colton Ryan, and Asa Somers.

You will also get a sneak peek at the phenomenal style of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, whose film La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, is premiering this December and already receiving Oscar buzz. In other awards news, the musical recently won ‘Best Musical’ prizes from the Obie Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Helen Hayes Awards.

If all that wasn’t enough to entice you to check the musical out, it was also announced today that beginning December 6, 2016, Dear Evan Hansen will launch a digital lottery, which will allow users to enter the lottery for a chance to purchase specially-priced tickets to that day’s performance.

You don’t want to be on the outside always looking in, make your way over to Dear Evan Hansen before it sells out, and believe me, it will. In the meantime, check out this clip of Ben Platt singing the show’s staple song Waving Through a Window.
