If you could gaze into the future, would you have seen a spinoff for That’s So Raven?

The new series was announced early last week, when Raven-Symoné revealed she’d be leaving The View in order to create the show. The reaction of fans was instant and overwhelming excitement. The spinoff will find Raven Baxter a divorced mother of two pre-teens, one of whom with the inherited ability to see the future.

With plenty of new stories to tell, there are a few essential throwbacks we need to see. So let’s count them down, in no particular order.

The Original Gang

As soon as the spin-off was announced, the immediate question was if the original cast would be returning. Raven noted that she’s not the head of casting, and as of now, she only knows that she’s returning. But the fans aren’t the only ones hoping to see the original cast back together. Orlando Brown, who played Eddie in the original series, immediately spoke out in a video released by TMZ. “We all are family. We did what we had to do to make a historical moment happen, and I don’t think it would’ve happened without all of us,” said Brown. Fortunately, he’s open to joining the project, adding, “I heard the storyline and it sounds great, her being a single mom and all that cool stuff.”

Also on board for a reunion is Anneliese Van Der Pol, who played the eccentric Chelsea in “That’s So Raven.” In an interview with People’s Choice last year, when asked if she’d support a revival, she said, “Hands down. I pray all the time, really. It was great; I’d do anything to get it back.” Though no official announcements have been made, our fingers are crossed that we’ll see the trio back in action.

The Disguises

From posing as a fake pop star to her own mother, Raven Baxter had some outrageous disguises over the years. These costumes were always accompanied by wacky hijinks, and even a song every now and again. Combining these with her unique physical comedy, Raven-Symoné always kept fans on their toes and laughing. As a mom of two in the new spinoff, there will likely be even more possibilities for chaos. There could even be some mother/daughter disguises this time around. Hopefully, Raven Baxter has held on to her silly side.

The Chill Grill

It’s no secret that Raven had a passion for fashion. She designed her own outfits and worked hard to make a name for herself in the industry. But she also spent plenty of time with her friends at Mr. Baxter’s restaurant The Chill Grill. The restaurant was also where Cory and the Boyz performed their hit single “Feelin’ The Love.”

Though it’s unlikely that Raven would have suddenly gone into the hospitality field, hopefully, the restaurant is still in the family. It would make the return of Victor Baxter (Rondell Sheridan) even easier. At this point, it could even be a successful chain of restaurants. I’d eat there.

The Boyz N Motion

There are several great boy bands of the world: *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and, of course, Boyz N Motion. Before Michael Copon was stealing Ashley Benson’s heart in Bring It On: In It To Win It, he stole the hearts of girls everywhere as Ricky, the frontman for Boyz N Motion. Let’s just review their star moments:

If Fuller House can snag The New Kids On The Block, then “That’s So Raven 2” – this is what Raven-Symoné has taken to calling it – can bring back the Boyz. We could always use another emergency preparedness video.

The Lessons

That’s So Raven was largely successful because of its physical comedy and quick wit. But underneath that, the show tackled some important topics, including racism and body positivity. Kids who grew up with the show found important role models in Raven, Eddie, and Chelsea. The spinoff will have a whole new generation of kids to inspire, as well as some adults who may be going through similar situations as the now grown up Raven. With the outspoken actress returning, it’d be surprising if there aren’t some incredibly relevant messages when the series hits screens.
