Sparrow Sleeps Premieres “Sharing is Cool”

Hey, kids! Are you ready to rock?! Then check out the new song “Sharing is Cool” from Sparrow Sleeps via Rock Sound!

The track features vocalists Joe Taylor of Knuckle Puck, and Dan Lambton from Real Friends; it will appear on Sparrow Sleeps’ upcoming album Sparrow and Friends Start a Band! The planned release is for October 21st.

Sparrow Sleeps’ group Sparrow and Friends is composed of duo Casey Cole and Peter Lockhart. The pair have been working in and out of the recording studio this past year recording songs with a few of their favorite vocalists, like Ryan Key (Yellowcard), Will Pugh (Cartel), Aaron Marsh (Copeland), Matthew Pryor (The Get Up Kids, The New Amsterdams), and Mike Herrera (MxPx), to comprise the 12-track album. All of the songs are geared toward pint-sized punk rockers aged 3-5 years old, and will ultimately be a learning tool. The songs vary in topics, such as tying shoes, brushing teeth, and, now, the concept of sharing in a way that’s easily understood by the target audience.

When asked about Sparrow and Friends Start a Band!, Casey Cole stated, “Sparrow and Friends is probably one of the weirder pop-pink compilations out there. We’re still amazed at the artists that were willing to be a part of this project and bring this crazy idea to fruition.”

Punk proficient parents that pre-order the new album will also receive a free download of Fan Favorites: Volume 1, a 15-track cover album that features lullaby versions of well-known artists and songs. Some of the songs and artists include Yellowcard’s “Ocean Avenue,” “Helena” by My Chemical Romance, and Coheed and Cambria’s track “Blood Red Summer.”

With parents and children in mind, both albums are great investments for the parents that want to help their children progress while still being able to enjoy their favorite genre of music. As a potential future parent, I have a fervent passion for most any punk music, so something like these albums would be greatly appreciated in my household.
