Shadowhunters Season 2: Mark Your Calendars

Freeform’s breakout fantasy series Shadowhunters is set to return Monday, January 2nd at 8 pm EST for its sophomore season.

The network announced the news via their Shadowhunters panel at New York Comic-Con, where fans were treated to sneak previews of the season and the show’s first season 2 trailer.

Also announced during today’s panel, “The Vampire Dairies” fan favorite Paul Wesley will be directing an upcoming episode of “Shadowhunters.”

In the season 2 premiere, the Shadow World is in upheaval as Valentine and The Circle continue to grow stronger by the minute, while our Shadowhunter team quickly becomes disillusioned with The Clave and their reaction to their most recent events. Loyalties will be tested, unlikely bonds will be made and relationships will be pushed to the limit as the Shadowhunters and their Downworlder friends make their way in a new world.

“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG and Matt Hastings. The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.
