Freeform Brings Sci-Fi to Stan Lee’s Comic Con

Stan Lee is holding onto his title as the greatest con man of all time. Of course, we mean comic-con. One of the most sought-after guests for any convention, Lee also annually hosts a convention of his own. Heralded as Los Angeles’ largest pop-culture celebration, Stan Lee’s Comic Con combines the old with the new, bringing in guests from pop culture past and present. This year, the convention is adding a bit of sci-fi to its ranks.

Freeform announced today that they will be bringing cast and executive producers from the new sci-fi drama “Beyond” to Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con on October 29-30. Fresh off a third season renewal, “Stitchers” will also be headed to the convention.

New original series “Beyond” will present its first episode in its entirety to the crowd, followed by a Q&A with cast and executive producers, including Tim Kring (“Heroes”), David Eick (“Battlestar Galactica”), Adam Nussdorf (“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”) and series star Burkely Duffield (“House of Anubis”) on Saturday, October 29, at the L.A. Convention Center.

“Beyond” premiered the series trailer via Twitter earlier this month.

We also chatted with Jacky Lai, who appears in the trailer as Riley, earlier this summer. As Holden figures out his new abilities, he will turn to Riley for help.

On Sunday, October 30, fans will dive into the fictional science of memory hacking during a 50-minute Q&A panel featuring “Stitchers” executive producer Jeffrey Alan Schechter (“Overruled!”) and cast members Ritesh Rajan (“The Jungle Book”), Damon Dayoub (“NCIS”) and Sarah Davenport (“Alice: The Hatred”).

Following the recent announcement that the show had been renewed, the “Stitchers” team has wasted no time getting back to work. Schechter tweeted out that he has met with the show’s writers to get things started, adding to the excitement of fans.

“Beyond” will premiere its entire first season on January 2. A premiere date for “Stitchers” has not yet been announced. See below for panel times/locations. For more information on Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con, visit http://www.stanleeslacomiccon.com/.
