When we went looking for a new label home there were many people who expressed interest. Our track record for both managing and releasing developing artists is unrivaled. As a team, we have always been willing to go the extra mile for our artists to help them grow, and we are elated to have another arm of our company to help artists develop and prosper. Howie Gabriel and Marc Schapiro, of Cooking Vinyl America, have demonstrated equal enthusiasm for what we aim to do and we cannot be more proud to partner with them.
Outerloop Records was launched in 2013 by Outerloop Management founder Mike Mowery as a solution for developing artists to take advantage of their recorded rights. Having been in the business for more than a decade, Mowery and Outerloop Management have successfully developed artists such as We Came As Romans, Crown the Empire, Ice Nine Kills, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Set It Off, and more, and served great artists like Refused, Escape The Fate, and Darkest Hour. Outerloop Records has already proven success in the past by releasing Ice Nine Kills’ third album (and first release of the label), The Predator Becomes the Prey, which debuted on Billboard’s 200, Heatseekers, and Hard Rock charts, and has sold over 20,000 units in the US (according to SoundScan). Now in partnership with Cooking Vinyl, Outerloop Records is ready to take 2017 by the horns with an unrivaled fire to discover and develop artists. Outerloop Records hopes to deliver a diverse roster and encompass all genres.
As a full-service management company over the past decade, Outerloop has had to pick up the pieces of artists and their work where many labels let them lie. Outerloop is spending time focusing on their artists’ branding, marketing, graphics, sponsorships, and endorsements in-house.
Mike Mowery comments further:
It’s a cost we’re willing to absorb because it’s what we know is best for our artist’s growth – and our consistent results time after time have proven that. The recorded music climate in 2016 moving into 2017 is in a precarious place, so we are excited to be able to offer that as a service to artists. For the artists we sign, whether we manage them or not, we aim to be an incredibly valuable team member who brings all of those services and experiences to the table.
Together, Outerloop Records and Cooking Vinyl are elated to push their initial releases and see what the future holds with forthcoming releases.
Howard Gabriel of Cooking Vinyl America elaborates:
Mike’s instincts in working with young talent has proven that he has the skills and the ears to break new artists. We hope that with that talent and our marketing expertise and global reach we will be able to help him successfully break these new Outerloop artists.
The first releases of the new partnership will include full-length albums from Youth In Revolt, Chasing Safety, Lorna Shore and Megosh. You can hear samples of the artists’ work on the Outerloop website. More details are soon to be announced.
