Five Questions That Need to Be Addressed in the Bachelor in Paradise Finale

Bachelor Nation’s time in paradise is almost over as Bachelor in Paradise’s (BIP) third season finale airs on Monday, September 5, and Tuesday, September 6. One could say that this has actually been the most dramatic season yet with as much drama as this season has produced. But, as any loyal viewer of the franchise knows, the drama will be non-stop right up until the final moments the show.

With all of that being said, I still have a lot of questions about what could possibly happen in these final two episodes. So here are five questions that I need addressed in the BIP finale:

Which Couple Gets Engaged?

Everyone arrived in Mexico this season hoping to find one thing; a love story similar to Jade and Tanner’s from Season 2. Who can really blame anyone for wanting what those two have? On their season, they were able to pair off immediately and then just sit back and watch the drama go down while nurturing their own relationship. The couple’s story ended in a proposal at the end of the season and a wedding earlier this year.

Therefore, which couple will get engaged, like Jade and Tanner, is the most obvious and most pressing question for Bachelor Nation. Show creator Mike Fleiss tweeted out a few weeks ago that there would indeed be “multiple engagements” this season but did not spoil things for his own show. Based on the couples remaining, I’m guessing that we’ll probably see at least Josh and Amanda and Grant and Lace get engaged. We could even see Carly and Evan get engaged next week because based on this week’s episodes they seem to be in love. Personally, I’m a little more skeptical about this relationship, but who knows? It is paradise after all.

Did Josh Come to Paradise for the ‘Right Reasons’?

There is a lot of debate over this question. Here’s my take: Josh was my favorite contestant on Andi’s season of The Bachelorette. So naturally I was excited when I heard that he would be on BIP. But so far, I’ve been very unimpressed with him. There has been multiple occasions where he has rubbed me the wrong way. For all those Team Josh fans out there, I’m not saying I hate him as I realize that this could simply be another case of how the producers have edited the show. But I do have some hesitations and questions based off of what I’ve seen.

Josh got more accusations about Andi’s recently published book thrown at him again on Monday night’s episode which led to him blowing up at his fellow castmates. “I am very frustrated right now. Ever since I’ve been here for some reason one person or multiple people have accused me of being fake … It’s very disrespectful. It’s inconsiderate, and it’s a bunch of (expletive) to be honest with you,” he said. “I wasn’t gonna come here. I am looking for somebody — period.”

When Josh asked if anyone thought he wasn’t genuine, Nick confessed that he was unsure. Then Josh accused him of trying to sabotage his relationship and Nick brought up the book. “You keep saying it’s a fictional book. All I know is on my part it’s not fictional — the stuff she wrote about me,” Nick said.

Eventually, Josh said he wanted to leave if things weren’t okay with Amanda and packed his bags, which seemed like a rash decision. But, Amanda decided she wanted to figure out their relationship on her terms. “I love the twins, and I respect what they have to say,” she said. “But at this point, I’m really tired of people telling me who I should or shouldn’t be with.”

It’s clear that Josh and Amanda obviously care about each other. But it is moments like the one I described above from this week’s episode that make me curious as to whether Josh is really genuine or not. I’m interested in seeing whether or not Josh proposes to Amanda. I think that will tell Bachelor Nation whether he was actually here for the ‘right reasons’ all along.

Who Will Wells Pick?

Well, Well, Wells. Honestly, I don’t remember a lot about Wells from his time on The Bachelorette. I only remember him for his drunk Snapchat recaps of each episode as they aired this summer. But somehow, he came into paradise and immediately stirred things up. In the three days that he was in paradise, Wells went out on dates with Ashley, Jami, and Shushanna. Even though it is paradise and anything can happen, that’s still a lot of dates in such a short amount of time.

So, now that Wells has three women, that all seem to be super interested in him, Bachelor Nation wants to know: who does he pick?

Personally, I think he should pick Jami. Jami, who originally appeared on Ben’s season of The Bachelor, seems to be much more compatible with Wells (based on the little bit of their date that we saw). Wells and Jami had the same major in college and bonded over Jami’s Batman tattoo, which is much more than Wells and Ashley or Wells and Shushanna. But, we will just have to wait and see.

Will Ashley I. Finally Move On From Jared?

I feel like I’m obligated to preface this question with an explanation about where I stand on Ashley I. I actually don’t think Ashley is completely crazy. I think a lot of her craziness is played up by the editing that the producers do. What I see when I look at Ashley and her actions is someone who truly cares about someone else (aka Jared) and wants to protect that person. Yes, she might be a little too obsessed with Jared, but it comes from a place of love. And I mean, come on, what girl hasn’t had feelings for a guy and wanted nothing more than for them to be reciprocated?

With all of that being said, much of this season has focused on Ashley’s one-sided love affair with Jared, even though Ashley did not come to paradise until week 3. However, Ashley admitted on this week’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise that she is finally over Jared. But, until I see it with my own two eyes (hopefully in the final two episodes next week), I don’t know how much I believe it.

What Happens to Jorge the Bartender?

Just like the question about how many licks it takes to get to the center of the tootsie pop, the world may never know the answer to this question. We all know that Jorge the Bartender is actually the unsung hero of BIP. Like any great bartender, Jorge also plays the role of therapist to the people he serves alcohol to. Since he is there for all the action, he becomes a shoulder for the contestants and along the way becomes their confident and friend.

However, BIP is a summer television program. So what happens to Jorge when BIP isn’t filming? I, and I think the rest of Bachelor Nation, needs to know. Basically, I think Jorge needs to be a staple on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette or he needs his own spin-off, whichever Mike Fleiss can make happen.

Bonus #1: Will Vinny and Izzy Ever Become a Solid Couple Again?

While this isn’t necessarily something we will find the answer to on the finale, I think it’s something that still needs to be addressed. Since the very first episode, Vinny and Izzy were one of the show’s definitive pairings. The couple seemed to become more secure in their relationship week after week. That’s why their break up on the Aug. 22 episode of BIP absolutely shocked and broke viewers hearts.

During their appearance on After Paradise later that same night, Izzy did express regret over dumping him.“I want to apologize immensely from the bottom of my heart,” she said. “I never meant to hurt you. You’re an amazing man.”

So, will Bachelor Nation will see them get back together? They were spotted on the same flight back to New York after their appearance on After Paradise last week. But I think only time will tell for this couple.

Bonus #2: Will Jared Finally Find Love?

Fun fact: I’ve been on Team Jared since America was first introduced to him on Kaitlyn’s season of The Bachelorette. From what I’ve seen on his stints in the franchise and on social media, he seems like such a genuine and humble guy that wants a chance to find love. I mean, the guy did both The Bachelorette and BIP Season 2 and did not leave with his one true love which shows how bad he wants to find it. This season it seemed like there was a good chance he could find it with Caila. He even followed her out after she left paradise on Tuesday’s episode. However, the two of them revealed on this week’s episode of After Paradise that they were no longer together.

So, will Jared finally find love? Again, this is not something that I believe will be addressed in next week’s final two episodes, but it is something that I hope is in his future.
