Yes, it has been awhile since Sum 41 has been at the forefront of music. After 2011’s Screaming Bloody Murder received critical acclaim, even with the band getting a Grammy nomination for the single “Blood in My Eyes,” things began to slow down as lead vocalist Deryck Whibley’s well-documented personal problems not only almost brought down the band, but almost ended his life.

With the long awaited return album, 13 Voices, set to be released October 7, Sum 41 is adamant that the passion that has driven the band since 1996 is still present. This is sure to be shown as the band begins their “Don’t Call It a Sum-Back” Tour October 5.

Fans will be given several different VIP opportunities to meet the band and receive a vinyl copy of 13 Voices. While fans will be given a chance to see Sum 41’s triumphant return, there will be an additional focus for the band. Sum 41 has partnered with Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to raise funds and awareness throughout the tour. Sweet Relief Musicians Fund has spent 25 years offering financial assistance to those in the music industry as they face illness, disability, or age-related problems.

Sum 41 will be joined by Senses Fail and As It Is on the tour, hitting 20 stops in the US and Canada. Tickets for the VIP opportunities will go on sale August 9 with the public sale beginning August 12.
