Common Ground Records Partners with Tackle Kids Cancer to Raise Awareness

Common Ground Records, an LA-based indie label, announced today that they are proud to partner with Tackle Kids Cancer this September to focus attention on this devastating disease during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children in the United States. Tackle Kids Cancer along with the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack UMC consists of dedicated clinicians and researchers specializing in pediatric cancer who are fighting towards outstanding medical success by advancing research and providing children access to the highest level of care.
To aid in the fight, Common Ground Records will be hosting two music festivals featuring over 20 bands in benefit of TKC, Common Ground Fest West in Los Angeles on September 10th will feature Assuming We Survive (acoustic), Alive & Well, In Her Own Words, and more, hosted at 8139 Apperson St, Sunland, CA and Common Ground Fest East in Baltimore on September 23rd will feature Something More, Centerfolds, Life on The Sideline, and more at Raven Inn (8636 Loch Raven Blvd. Towson, MD). Every dollar raised for Tackle Kids Cancer benefits both the essential clinical care and critical pediatric cancer research which is needed to find a cure.
In addition to the festivals, Common Ground Records will also be releasing a digital compilation, called Good Vibes Only Vol. 1 featuring 50+ bands including State Champs, Forever Came Calling, Handguns, Hit The Lights, Marianas Trench and more. The compilation will be available via Bandcamp starting on September 9th with all proceeds from both the festivals and the compilation being donated to Tackle Kids Cancer. Pre-orders for the compilation are currently available here.
Common Grounds Records had this to say about the partnership:
We feel like now more than ever there has been a lot of negativity and problematic issues surrounding our community, and we wanted to prove that there are still good people and good things that can come out of it. So we asked all our friends and family in music to come together for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It didn’t matter what genre they were or how established they are. Good Vibes Only and the bicoastal Common Ground festivals are purely about good music for a good cause. No contribution is too small and we hope you will be a part of it with us.
This is your chance to actually do something about childhood cancer, whether you attend one of the festivals or purchase the compilation, your money will be used to save lives. Let’s all come together and show these kids that they are not fighting this war alone!
