Summer’s Full of Reruns, but Syfy Has All-New Programming to Beat the Heat

It’s hot and sticky outside, but Syfy Channel has programming that’s so hot it’s cool–you’ll definitely want to stay inside for these!

On Sunday, July 31, Syfy kicks it off with the premiere of Sharknado: the 4th Awakens. Ian Ziering and company are back…and so are the sharknadoes. Will they be able to stop them for good? Only time (and Syfy) will tell. Here’s a trailer for the shark-and-action-packed summer hit:

The heat that keeps you cool doesn’t stop there, though; Syfy also has the returns of Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness to put a chill in your spine. The season premieres air Wednesday, August 3, beginning at 9/8c.

Friday brings you more Syfy in the sky with the space operas Killjoys and Dark Matter. At 9/8c Dutch (Killjoys) finds herself on the hunt for that green galactic goo, and her obsession puts her team in danger. After on Killjoys, the Raza crew must try to find some cash, and new crew member Nyx has a plan that turns personal.

Syfy rounds out the week with the Saturday premiere of Syfy original movie 2 Lava 2 Lantuala. That’s right, the lavalantulas are back, along with Steve Guttenberg as Colton West. The lavalantulas are invading Florida, where West’s stepdaughter is trying to have a spider-free spring break. Guttenberg has some help in the form of fellow Police Academy alumni Michael Winslow and Marion Ramsey, but will it be enough to stop the Gargantulantula? 2 Lava 2 Lantula premieres at 9/8c.

So if you’re looking to beat the heat this summer, stay inside and watch these cool shows.
