Dylan Taylor Releases G.R.A.V.E.S. Debut Track
Today, Dylan Taylor dropped the first track off his debut EP G.R.A.V.E.S. titled “Lost Hearts” which features Cameron Byrd of Hollywood Ending. This Los Angeles-based drummer and producer has been turning heads in the YouTube community by creating unique covers which combine his passion for drumming with EDM music; his work has garnered nearly 12 Million views to date. Lost Hearts is one of many collaborations on the EP and is available for FREE download over at Taylor’s SoundCloud.

Lost Hearts‘ is one of the more hard-hitting tracks on my EP. Playing drums with it during my set really gets the crowd dancing and out of their heads. The song is about celebrating compassion and optimism. Whether it be people upset about something in their life, or going through a heartbreak, lyrically it paints a picture of ‘come with me, let’s start over, everything will be ok, you don’t have to be lost anymore.‘ I want my music to resonate on an emotional level besides just on the dance floor and I feel like ‘Lost Hearts’ can hit you in so many ways, and that’s what I enjoy most about playing this song. It’s always a massive step when an artist releases their debut track. They say you never get a second chance at a first impression, and with that kind of pressure and expectation, I couldn’t be more confident that “Lost Hearts” is the identifying track to my sound as an artist, and theme for G.R.A.V.E.S.
Taylor began his career under the instruction of the highly acclaimed John Miceli (Meat Loaf), he later relocated to Los Angeles and was discovered by Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit). During his tenure in Los Angeles, Taylor began to expand his production knowledge in order to better incorporate all the elements of the technical side of creating electronic music, while still growing as a songwriter and player doing session work on the drums. Taylor brings something very unique to the EDM music world in that he adds a live drum performance to his songs, rather than relying entirely on computer-based drum tracks.
Dylan has been inspired by several artists and genres which can be heard in his trademark sound. These influences range from EDM artists like Zedd and Calvin Harris to alternative acts like The 1975 and Bon Iver. His forthcoming debut EP, G.R.A.V.E.S features collaborations on 3 out of 5 of the tracks with notable artists such as The Ready Set, Cameron Byrd (Hollywood Ending), and Matthew Beilis.
