Best One-Liner: The Tony Awards

Honorable mention: Reign (Queen Mary). 

“I am Mary, Queen of Scots, and I have come to reclaim my throne”. Mary arrives back in Scotland just in time before the nobles vote to end the monarchy. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).

Most Badass Character: Preacher

Jesse, the Preacher

Ever since Jesse absorbed the whatever it is, he can make you do things. Anything. If he tells the local perv to forget a schoolgirl, he forgets she exists. He told a catatonic girl to open her eyes and she did. He suggested a man open his heart to his mother, whoops, open heart surgery on the kitchen table. This week he told the mayor to serve the Lord, I mean SERVE THE LORD, and the mayor got religion real fast. (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Most Lovable Character: Baby Daddy

Ben Wheeler

In this week’s Baby Daddy, it was revealed that Ben never finished high school because he forgot to take his biology final. So, to be a role model for Emma, Ben decides to go back and take the test. More than that, he refuses to cheat and actually studies. His dedication to doing things the right way just for Emma, plus his dressing up as a princess to play with her, had everyone loving Ben. Biggest Jerk: Penny Dreadful

Dorian Gray throwing everyone under the bus

Never trust that Dorian Gray! He claimed to love and accept Angelique, but she stumbles onto his portrait and he slips her poison. He falls for Lily,  a fellow immortal,  but grows bored with the army of prostitutes she’s training. Oops, a whiff of chloroform and Lily finds herself chained in Frankenstein’s clutches. Bad Guy/Girl of the Week: Pretty Little Liars

ELLIOT ROLLINS

Elliott takes the cake as worst husband ever. After convincing Ali she’s gone crazy and is hallucinating, he personally ensures she’s trapped in Welby. He then proceeds to tell Ali of his lies, leaving her drugged, paranoid and heartbroken. His cruelty gives A a run for their money. (Contributed by Danielle Ortiz).

Shadiest Character: Wynonna Earp

Willa Earp

It doesn’t get much shadier than blindsiding your own sister’s and being a double-agent.  The long-lost Earp sister who had been believed long dead isn’t as sweet, nice, and innocent as she had originally seemed.  While she appears to be on Wynonna’s side, it turns out that she has been in cahoots with Bobo, the demon who locked her away for years.  Instead of wanting to kill all of the demons living in Purgatory, Willa wants to set them free and is even willing to kill Wynonna to succeed.

Best Kiss: The Tony Awards

Neil Patrick Harris and Audra McDonald

The Tony’s showed clips of backstage during commercial breaks, and we were treated to a lovely kiss: NPH tapped his cheek so Audra would kiss him there, but turned his head when she closed in, leading to a lovely lip-lock. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).

Most Swoon-Worthy Scene: Reign

Leith proposes to Claude

Catherine finally gives Cleith her blessing to marry, so Leith officially proposes to Claude. After, they have a post-proposal romp. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).

Biggest OTP Moment: Pretty Little Lairs

Emison

In the PLL summer premiere, Emily is hurting over Ali, thinking she may have actually murdered Charlotte. When Emily goes to Ali’s room to look for evidence, she experiences a series of romantic flashbacks of Alison. It definitely set the groundwork for the potential rekindling this season. Most Emotional Scene: The Tony Awards

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s acceptance speech

Lin wrote a sonnet for his acceptance speech for Hamilton that began with love for his wife and ended with a dedication to Orlando. “Love is love is love is love” had me crying. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).

Honorable mention: Outlander (Colum MacKenzie and Alex Randall dying).

Most Heartbreaking Moment: Penny Dreadful

The Entire End of Penny Dreadful

In the overall heartbreaking final episode, Vanessa has fallen to Dracula and Ethan arrives in time to save her – by doing her the “kindness” she mentioned in season one. After the mortals leave her graveside, the Creature, with him reciting a poem as voice over, kneels at her grave. The screen fades to black, the words The End appear, leaving legions of Dreadful bereft. (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Most Heartfelt Reunion: Young and Hungry

Yolanda’s Birthday Surprise

After ruining Yolanda’s birthday party with their fighting, and losing the gift her daughter got her, Josh and Gabi team up to surprise Yolanda. They manage to get her daughter home from the military to celebrate Yolanda’s birthday with her. It was a touching family moment that had everyone feeling warm and fuzzy, while adding some laughter in as well. (Contributed by Danielle Ortiz).

Most Heartwarming Moment: Pretty Little Liars

Hanna’s Dream

Trapped in a bunker, Hanna was rapidly losing hope and getting more scared. As she sleeps, Spencer comes to her in a dream, giving her hope. “If there’s a way in, there’s a way out.” Hanna asks if Spencer will stay with her, to which Spencer responds “always.” It was a beautiful depiction of the friendship between the girls and helped Hanna save herself. One of the best scenes on PLL yet. (Contributed by Danielle Ortiz).

Funniest Scene: Preacher

Cassidy getting “killed” yet again

For an 119-year-old vampire, Cassidy does not have the luck of the Irish. This week he’s killed by Tulip while having a bit of fun at the Toad. Tulip is angry at the insensitivity over the death of one of the whorehouse girls. She grabs a baton and it’s Cassidy’s unlucky day. His bare bottom goes crashing out a window, getting a nice wedge of glass stuck in his neck. Tulip – actually feeling bad about something – takes him to the hospital.  But Cassidy helps himself – to the hospitals blood bank- where they find him drenched in blood and giddy from so much of “the good stuff.” (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Best Buddy Moment: Houdini and Doyle

Houdini and Doyle actually agreed with each other this week! Stop the presses! While the two bicker over the supernatural they both agree Adelaide is in danger and make the decision to take her to New York. (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Best Action Scene: Game of Thrones

The Battle for Winterfell

There are probably movie directors envious of the glory that was the battle of Winterfell. Gruesome as live soldiers fight on top of the bodies of the dead. Tense, because Jon’s forces are so vastly outnumbered. Cheer- worthy as Littlefinger and the Knights of the Valentine show up to crush Bolton’s forces. The best was saved for last, for those of us waiting to see Ramsay die – he’s eaten by his own dogs while Sansa stands by with a smirk on her face. Epic! (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Best Plot-twist: Wynonna Earp

“Oh, waverly…you’re not even an earp.”

Whoomp there it is.  In Wynonna Earp‘s season finale, the youngest Earp sister received some unsettling news: she may not even be an Earp after all.  This revelation completely changes the game and changes everything that Waverly has known.  While we aren’t sure if Bobo’s words can be trusted, it’s definitely news that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon…especially considering the slightly demonesque Waverly that appeared at the end of the episode.  That definitely wasn’t Earp-like.

Honorable mention: Outlander

Ever since Mary’s rape and Claire’s assault, Outlander fans have been waiting for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. Last week’s episode, titled “Vengeance Is Mine,” finally delivered just that. After Claire unwittingly ends up in the company of the Duke of Sandringham, she discovers, to her horror, that he orchestrated the attack on her and Mary as a way to pay off his debt to Count St. Germain. In addition, he also plans to deliver Jaimie and Claire to the English as a way to prove his loyalty to the crown. However, his gloating is short-lived; soon after Jaimie and Murtagh arrive at the Duke’s home, the Duke finds himself on the wrong end of Murtagh’s sword. The Duke and the Duke’s henchman, who committed the rape, are both slain in a particularly bloody scene that carried a lot of emotional weight. Hopefully, Mary can begin to recover from the attack now that the men responsible have paid for their crime! (Contributed by Jackie Bojarski).

Weirdest Moment: Young anD Hungry

Josh’s Corset/Girdle

Seeing Rex Lee tie Jonathan Sadowski into a corset was something I never thought I’d see. If you missed it, it was quite similar to Keira Knightley’s corset scene in Pirates of the Caribbean. (Contributed by Danielle Ortiz).

Cutest Moment: Wynonna Earp

Waverly and Nicole

Officer Nicole Haught has just been welcomed into the Black Badge Division, and it doesn’t take her long to find herself on the receiving end of a bullet.  Seeing a gun pointed at her girlfriend prompts Waverly to drop any reservations she had regarding revealing their relationship, and she pleads for Haught’s life.  And when Willa does shoot Nicole but Nicole is saved by the bulletproof vest she is wearing, the tear-filled Wayhaught kiss that ensues is enough to make anyone say “awwwwwwe.”

Most Shocking: Penny Dreadful

Renfield’s Dietary Habits

We knew Renfield liked his fair share of blood, but we had no idea he savored toad. Until he picked up a live one. And bit it in half. And chewed it very, very slowly. (Contributed by Arlene Allen).

Most Suspenseful: Wynonna Earp

Wynonna and Willa Standoff

The fate of Purgatory came down to this single moment: a draw between Wynnona Earp and Willa Earp, both of whom are partial heirs to the Peacemaker.  One sister is on the good side, the other is on the bad.  Wynonna doesn’t want to shoot her sister, but she draws her gun regardless, Willa, however, is determined and more than willing to kill Wynonna.  Too bad Willa’s gun doesn’t fire when she pulls the trigger.

Most Terrifying Scene: Reign

Lola’s execution

Lola gets caught up in an assassination plot against Elizabeth and is sentenced to death. Narcisse is granted permission to watch his wife’s beheading. I can’t believe they actually went through with it. No last-minute saving. No more Lola, no more Locisse. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).

Performer of the Week: The Tony Awards

The woman is several months pregnant yet performed with her Shuffle Along castmates, complete with tap dancing and high kicks. Let me remind you again: Pregnant. High kicks. Tap Dancing. (Contributed by Jenni Bradley).
