The New Regime has released a live performance video for his single “We Rise, We Fall” from the band’s EP Exhibit B. You can watch it below!
The video is filmed from five different angles using GoPro cameras and is just pure live music. Ilan Rubin, the mastermind behind The New Regime says, “I think it’s important for fans to experience these songs live because it’s showing a different perspective of the same song. The familiarity is there but the energy, experience, and sometimes interpretation is different.” Paste Magazine says the in-studio performance “brings [them] back to traditional rock and roll in the best way–to an era when expert musicianship and legendary live performances were the main objectives”.
This is the first of eight live in-studio videos, which cover tracks from the albums Exhibit A and Exhibit B, that will be released throughout the summer.
Exhibit B is the name of The New Regime’s new eight-song EP, which Rubin wrote and recorded almost entirely while touring with NIN in 2013-14. And it was on that tour that Rubin got to stretch his wings onstage as well. “When I first toured with Nine Inch Nails in 2009, Trent knew that I could play piano, so wherever there was a piano part, I would take it over,” he says. “On the last tour, the band was down to a four-piece, so we needed to distribute parts as best we could. There were a lot of moments when I played bass and guitar and some keyboards. And I think that was a big help in getting people to see a bit more of what I’m about as a musician.”
