USA Network Unveils New Trailers at NBCUniversal 2016 Upfronts

Today in New York, USA Network, debuted the Season 2 trailer for its award-winning series Mr. Robot at the NBCUniversal 2016 Upfront Presentation, which also featured stars and content from NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, NBC Broadcast, News, Sports and Telemundo Networks.  USA Network also gave audiences a first look at two of its exciting upcoming new drama series – Shooter and Falling Water.

Mr. Robot will launch its second season on Wednesday, July 13 at 10/9c. The story follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a young cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group ‘fsociety’ after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater).  Both Malek and Slater were in attendance at the Upfront event today.  This award-winning drama hails from writer and executive producer Sam Esmail (“Comet”) as well as Anonymous Content executive producers Steve Golin (“True Detective”) and Chad Hamilton (“Breakup at a Wedding”) and is produced by Universal Cable Productions.

Shooter, a new series based on the best-selling Bob Lee Swagger novel written by Stephen Hunter, Point of Impact, will premiere on the USA Network this summer.  The series stars Ryan Phillipe (“Secrets and Lies”) and Omar Epps (“House”), who both attended today’s Upfront. The series follows the journey of, a highly-decorated ex-Marine sniper, Swagger, who is coerced into taking action again after he learns about a plot to kill the President.  Shooter is executive produced by Mark Wahlberg (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Entourage”, “Point of Impact”) of Closest to the Hole Productions;  Stephen Levinson (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Ballers”) of Leverage Entertainment; and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (“Transformers,” “The Real O’Neals”).  John Hlavin (“The Shield”) wrote the pilot and will also executive produce.  Simon Cellan Jones (“Ballers”) directed the pilot. Shooter is a co-production between Paramount Television and Universal Cable Productions.

Falling Water, a convoluted and mysterious drama which will debut in the fall of 2016, is the story of three unrelated people who slowly realize that they are dreaming separate parts of a single common dream.   As they investigate the dream they come to realize that their visions just might hold the key to the fate of the world.  The series, from Universal Cable Productions, is executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd (“The Walking Dead”) of Valhalla Entertainment, Blake Masters (“Brotherhood”) and the late Emmy Award-Winner Henry Bromell (“Homeland”).  David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6), who attended today’s Upfront event, Will Yun Lee (“Hawaii 5-0”) and Lizzie Brochere (“American Horror Story: Asylum”) star.
