5 Seconds of Summer will be directly supported by Tokyo-based rock band ONE OK ROCK for their U.S. summer tour.
ONE OK ROCK formed in 2005 in Tokyo, Japan, creating music that blends elements from emo, rock, and metal, becoming one of Japan’s most eminent rock bands. They’ve released seven albums since their beginnings, the most recent four all charting in the Top 5, including their latest release 35xxxv, which hit No. 1 at its debut.
A deluxe version of 35xxxv was released in the states in October, and it reached No. 17 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. 35xxxv Deluxe Edition in its entirety was released with English vocals and includes rendered artwork and an additional two tracks not available on the Japanese version. The deluxe edition has reached No. 17 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart and has been praised by notable U.S. music magazines, including Alternative Press and Outburn Magazine.
ONE OK ROCK toured the United States last fall to support 35xxxv Deluxe Edition, their headlining shows selling out completely prior to their joining up with pop-punk heroes All Time Low.
Concert Updater had this to say about ONE OK ROCK’s live shows, “ONE OK ROCK, one of Japan’s most beloved rock acts opened the show but quickly became a crowd favorite. This band may be new to the U.S., but telling by the reaction of the crowd, ONE OK ROCK is one to watch.”
Want to get in on the action and witness this group’s forceful musical impact on the crowds of the states? Then catch them on tour this summer with Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer! The tour opens in Connecticut on June 30th. A full set of tour dates can be found at the bottom of the article.
